Seventeen-year-old Isabella "Bella" Swan moves to Forks, a small town on the Washington coast, to live with her father, Charlie. Her mother, Renée, is remarried to a minor league baseball player, and they are often traveling. Bella makes many friends at her new high school, but she is intrigued by the mysterious and aloof Cullen siblings. Bella sits next to Edward Cullen in biology class on her first day of school, but he seems to be repulsed by her. A few days later, Bella is nearly struck by a van in the school parking lot. Edward saves her by instantaneously covering a distance of some 30 feet and putting himself between Bella and the van, stopping it without injury with only his hand. He subsequently refuses to explain his actions to Bella and warns her against befriending him.

On her 18th birthday, Bella Swan wakes up from a dream in which she sees herself as an old woman. In 1895, a young immigrant couple is refused entry into Manhattan because they have consumption. Alors que la nuit est tombée, on voit Bugs Bunny creuser une longue galerie afin de rejoindre Pittsburgh. Mais il se trompe de chemin et aboutit devant le château hanté du comte Dracula (en Transylvanie) qu'il prend pour une sorte de grand motel. Devant l'entrée, il demande son chemin à un vautour femelle à deux têtes, qui le trouve « à croquer ». Bugs se fait inviter à l'intérieur. Sans prendre garde aux fantômes et au mobilier effrayant, il recherche un téléphone. Il prend le comte pour un maître d'hôtel. Ce dernier joue le jeu et le guide à travers les étages, où les couloirs et les portes sont en forme de cercueil. Dans les pièces, on voit un piano à mâchoires garnies de dents, une télévision, des portraits de fantômes et de chauve-souris. Il lui présente sa chambre à coucher, lui enjoint de dormir jusqu'au lendemain, dans le but caché de lui aspirer son sang durant la nuit.

Auditeur du jeu radiophonique Quel est le nom de ton nom, Porky Pig se voit décerner sans raison apparente le premier prix, qu’il reçoit immédiatement à son domicile sous forme de paquet cadeau. Le prix remporté se trouve être le canard Daffy Duck, lequel se révèle d’emblée envahissant et semeur de désordre, jetant par la fenêtre divers objets et mobiliers, avant d’être lui-même jeté dehors par un Porky Pig excédé. Mais Daffy Duck décide de jouer aux Dr Jekyll et M. Hyde et revient à la charge en prétendant avoir une double personnalité et se transformer en monstre lorsqu’on le contrarie. A l’aide de fausses dents et mimiques assorties, il terrorise Porky pig qui finit toutefois par comprendre le manège et rendre la pareille à Daffy Duck en l’effrayant à son tour, revêtu d’un costume d’Halloween. Finalement, Daffy Duck ayant fui les lieux, Porky Pig s’effraye lui-même en se voyant par hasard dans un miroir.
