Il s’agit d’une série de vidéos entrelacées inspirées de l’album de Gainsbourg. En 1971, c’est un concept inédit pour donner vie à un LP, mais ce qui est encore plus surprenant, ce sont les visuels étonnants du court-métrage qu’Averty a réalisés à l’aide d’une multitude de filtres vidéo, de superpositions, de mouvements de caméra et d’effets chroma. Averty les applique en tandem avec le ton croissant des chansons de Gainsbourg, qui plus ou moins chroniquent la liaison d’un homme plus âgé avec une jeune fille. Chaque chanson est composée d’une prestation poétique constante, parfois inquiétante, avec des refrains chronométrés aux répétitions de phrase de chaque chanson, tandis que la guitare bourdonnant d’Alan Parker accompagne et se tortille autour de la voix résonante de Gainsbourg. La basse est grasse et groovy, la batterie facile mais stable, et l’utilisation périodique de cordes ou de vibrato riche rend ce court métrage comme un petit bijou sensuel.
The action takes place at the beginning of 20th century.
Unemployed and homeless Babbs Baberley (Alexander Kalyagin) is being chased by the police who attempt to arrest him for vagrancy. Babbs finds himself in a rich house, where he encounters Charlie and Jackie. Babbs' unsuccessful attempt to disguise himself as a woman gives Charlie and Jackie an idea. By threatening to surrender Babbs to the (successfully bribed) police, they force their unexpected visitor to dress once again as a woman and pass himself for Donna Rosa d'Alvadorez, Charlie's millionaire aunt who is expected to arrive with a visit from Brazil. Charlie and Jackie want Babbs to seduce Judge Criggs (Armen Dzhigarkhanyan) with the irresistible charms of a millionaire widow and to trick the Judge into giving his nieces, Annie and Betty, a permission to marry Charlie and Jackie.

The Lecturer tells an assembly of American parents about the evils of marijuana ("Reefer Madness"). He then launches into the tragic tale of one boy's struggles with the demon weed in the form of a film titled "Tell Your Children". At times, the Lecturer stops the film whenever he details a plot point or to condescend anyone who questions said plot points, such as Mr. Kochinski, whom he calls a commie.
Five high school juniors: Olivia White (Bridgit Mendler), Mohini "Mo" Banjaree (Naomi Scott), Charles "Charlie" Delgado (Blake Michael), Stella Yamada (Hayley Kiyoko), and Wendell "Wen" Gifford (Adam Hicks) all meet after ending up in detention for different reasons. While there, they tap out a beat and play instruments, and Olivia sings "Turn Up the Music". Miss Reznick (Tisha Campbell-Martin), the music teacher, said that they would make a great band. She also mentions a music show "Rising Star". Mudslide Crush, a popular band were also entering so they passed as they wouldn't have a shot.
Cinderella's Fairy Godmother (Whitney Houston) explains that nothing is impossible in this magical, mystical realm. In the village, Cinderella (Brandy) struggles under the weight of the numerous gaudy purchases of her imperious Stepmother (Bernadette Peters) and her spiteful and envious stepsisters Minerva (Natalie Desselle-Reid) and Calliope (Veanne Cox). Cinderella's imagination wanders ("The Sweetest Sounds"). Disguised as a peasant, Prince Christopher (Paolo Montalban) is also strolling through the marketplace. The two meet when the Prince rushes over to help Cinderella after she is nearly crushed by the royal carriage. They begin to talk and realize they are both dissatisfied with their sheltered lives. She is charmed by his sincere, direct nature, while he is drawn to her naive honesty and purity. Their conversation is cut off when Cinderella's Stepmother scolds her for talking to a stranger. The Prince reluctantly leaves, but tells Cinderella that he hopes to see her again.

In Atlanta, Georgia, Cyrus DeBarge is a musically talented choir director who writes rap lyrics under the pseudonym "Truth" because of his father Pastor Jacob's disapproval of hip hop music and his shy demeanor compared to his more outgoing best friend Kris McDuffy. Cyrus also secretly works as a busboy at a club, Off the Street, where the music label of their childhood friend, teenage singing sensation Roxanne "Roxie" Andrews, is sponsoring a songwriting contest. Roxie chooses Truth's heartfelt song "Don't Run Away" as the winning entry but misidentifies Kris as Truth because the photo Cyrus submitted was of them both. Kris convinces Cyrus to let him take credit for the song because he has feelings for Roxie. As Kris uses Cyrus' verses to get closer to both Roxie's heart and his newfound fame, Cyrus begins to resent his best friend.

After their marriage, the Beast and Belle unite all the famous fairy tale kingdoms into the United States of Auradon, and are elected King and Queen. Villains and their minions are imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost, a slum-like island surrounded by a barrier that prevents the use of magic (deceased villains were resurrected to succumb in this punishment). 20 years later, the Beast and Belle's son Prince Ben is soon to be crown king. As his first proclamation, Ben wishes to give the kids on the Isle of the Lost the chance to live in Auradon. Though skeptical, his parents accede to his idea. The kids chosen are: Carlos, son of Cruella de Vil; Jay, son of Jafar; Evie, daughter of the Evil Queen; and Mal, daughter of Maleficent. The quartet are causing mischief until they are summoned by Maleficent ("Rotten to the Core"), who orders them to use their school trip to steal Fairy Godmother's wand; with it, the villains will break the barrier and control of both sides of magic.
