The Queen, often referred to as the Evil Queen or the Wicked Queen, is a fictional character and the main antagonist in "Snow White", a fairy tale set in the German countryside, recorded by the Brothers Grimm; similar stories are also known to exist in other countries. Other versions of the Queen appear in "Snow White" derivative works, and the character has also become an archetype for unrelated works of fiction.The Queen is Snow White's evil and vindictive stepmother who is obsessed with being "the fairest in the land". The young princess Snow White makes her jealous, so the Queen concocts several plans to kill Snow White through the use of witchcraft. A driving force in the story is the Queen's Magic Mirror. In the traditional resolution of the story, the Queen is grotesquely executed for her crimes. The tale is a lesson for young children warning against narcissism and pride. She is often regarded as the most interesting character in "Snow White" and has been extensively analyzed and evaluated by literature scholars and psychologists.
Various other versions of the Queen, appear in many subsequent adaptations and continuations of the fairy tale, including novels and films. In these, the Queen is often re-imagined and sometimes portrayed more sympathetically, such as being morally conflicted, or suffering from madness, instead of just being purely evil. In the revisionist stories, she can even become an antihero or a tragic hero. In some instances, she serves as the protagonist or narrator of the story; one such particularly notable version is Disney's version, sometimes known as Queen Grimhilde. The Queen has also become an archetype that inspired several characters featured in the works that are not directly based on the original tale.

While admiring a rose blooming in the winter, Queen Eleanor of the Kingdom of Tabor pricks her finger on one of its thorns. Three drops of blood fall onto the snow-covered ground, and she wishes for a daughter as white as the snow, with lips as red as the blood, hair as black as a raven's wings and a heart as strong and defiant as the rose. Queen Eleanor gives birth to her daughter Snow White, but then Queen Eleanor falls ill and dies. After her death, Snow White's father King Magnus and his army battle an invading Dark Army of demonic glass soldiers. Upon rescuing their prisoner Ravenna, he becomes enchanted with her beauty and marries her.

The land of the queen is divided in two parts. At one side, there is a residential area which is overwhelmed by the mighty castle. On the other side is a dark forest named Unterwaldt. Both parts are only connected with a little bridge over the river. One day Little Red Riding Hood is picking flowers at the border of the residential area. She sees a beautiful flower across the bridge and decides to enter Unterwaldt. The forest takes Little Red Riding Hood in its power and the girl forgets time. She decides to swim in the river, but suddenly a shark-fin appears. However, it is the hat of dwarf Bubi who spies on the woman. Bubi is attacked by a bear. A scared Little Red Riding Hood runs further into the forest. The bear takes Bubi to the cottage of the dwarves. It is revealed the bear is the disguised dwarf Tschakko. As Bubi looked at a woman, which is forbidden by the dwarves, he is punished. Squirrels tickle his feet until Bubi can't stop laughing.

John and Josephine deeply wish to have a child and when she is born, they name her Snow White. However, Josephine, Snow White's mother, dies in childbirth, leaving John alone with their child. In the winter, John struggles to find food for his daughter Snow White when he sheds a tear over a frozen lake and frees a creature known as the Green-Eyed One. As thanks for freeing him, Green-Eyed One offers John three wishes. For John's wishes, he asks for nourishment for his daughter, a kingdom to raise his family, and a new queen for a new and second wife, as the creature is unable to resurrect Josephine.
