Bappi Lahiri or Alokesh Lahiri (born 27 November 1952) is a music director in the Indian film industry. He popularized the use of synthesized disco music in Indian cinema and sang some of his own compositions. He was popular in the 1980s and 90s with filmi soundtracks like Disco Dancer, Namak Halaal, Gang Leader, and Sharaabi among others.
Bappi D. Lahiri was born in Calcutta (now Kolkata), West Bengal. His father, Aparesh Lahiri, was a famous Bengali singer and his mother, Bansari Lahiri, was a musician and a singer who was well-versed in classical music and Shyama Sangeet. He is their only child.
He began to play the tabla at the age of three. His maternal relatives include legendary singer Kishore Kumar and the S. Mukherjee clan. Initially he was trained by his parents.

The story follows Rahul (Jimmy Shergill), a young businessman who comes back from the U.S. to patch things up with his girlfriend Preeti (Kaveri Jha). Veeru (Kunal Khemu) is a small time crook working for a large drug importer, Tejpal (Arbaaz Khan). He is unaware that his best friend Jai (Fardeen Khan) is an undercover cop, seeking evidence against Tejpal. During a raid on Tejpal's warehouse, Veeru accidentally shoots Jai in the head but he miraculously survives and makes a full recovery. Veeru then flees the state, and is subsequently arrested. Jai is assigned the task of returning Veeru to testify against Tejpal. They confront each other, and seem to find their friendship still exists. They both decide to be friends again, when Veeru claims he has Tejpal's diary, which includes all his secrets and whereabouts. When they go to catch him, Tejpal shoots Veeru, while Jai attacks Tejpal and kills him. By the time the police get there, Jai has already let Veeru flee, and Jai is arrested for what he has done. Prosanto Mullick is a well-known and successful businessman. He is so much in love with Debi, his wife that he readily walks out of a business meeting where the deal amounts to around Rs.7 crore when a telephone call from home informs that she is ill. She is all decked up and ready to wish him happy wedding anniversary, piano, song and all. The tell-tale white streaks in her hair show that they have been married for a while. She faints as the song ends and you’ve guessed it – she is pregnant. But hubby dear is not happy. When she delivers twins, he hates to share her with them. Enter villain Charandas, an old friend of Prosanto who had the twitters for Debi but is out to avenge the stinging slap she gave him before he went to jail. He wants to set up a business. Prosanto writes out a cheque for Rs.3 crore. But Charandas’ intentions are different. He kidnaps the older of the twins but to avoid being caught by the neighbourhood public, dumps the baby into the community dustbin and makes good his escape. Rahmat, the neighbourhood thief, picks up the infant, takes him home and brings him up, without keeping the story of how he found him a secret. Debi suspects that her husband of the kidnap because she finds his wrist-watch on the floor. During a heated argument, she falls off the stairs, loses her sanity and is placed in a mental home. Prosanto is jailed for 14 years and in the meanwhile, the kidnapped twin who has named himself Arjun, grows up to become the modern Robin Hood of the locality, fighting the bad ones for justice. Nandini, Charandas’ beautiful daughter, falls in love with him at first sight when he steps into her marriage mandap and rescues her from marriage to a politician’s villainous son. Though he does his quota of singing and dancing, he longs for the mother he thinks threw him away and feels a strange pull towards the crazy Debi when Prosanto, out of jail, asks him to help him fight Charandas for revenge. Around this time, the second twin, Akash, flies back home with a degree in psychiatric medicine under his arm. He wants to cure his mother and also falls in love with a fellow-passenger on his way back home. Some more singing and dancing follows while Arjun becomes a trusted aide of Prosanto, each one unaware of the father-son tie they are bound by. With a great deal of action scenes filled with fights, fisticuffs, breaking of ropes and so on, Charandas is defeated in his devious plans of decimating the family he hates, Debi is cured completely, Arjun and Nandini are united, blood ties are reinforced, and you just wait to hear the still photographer say ‘smile’ for the last group photograph.

The story of this film revolves around the main character Shivaji (Prosenjit) who is a goon. Shivaji's wife Durga (Swastika Mukherjee) on the other hand being insulted and humiliated again and again by people tries to commit suicide. Shivaji ultimately saves her life and leaves all criminal activities. Prasanta Mullick and his wife (Mousumi Saha) help him to start a business of a fast-food centre. But one day Bishal Sarkar's brother along with goons attack the restaurant and kills a person. Inspector Satyaprakash (Tapas Paul) arrests innocent Shivaji and he was imprisoned. Prasanta Mullick resigns from the post of a judge, and tries to prove Shivaji innocent. In this mean time the three brothers of Bishal Sarkar attacks Shivaji's house, kills his daughter Tumpa and rapes his wife. Durga commits suicide. To seek revenge Shivaji escapes from the police custody and starts killing Bishal Sarkar's brothers one by one. He also kidnaps Insp. Satyaprakash's daughter Jaya (Tathoi). Jaya was a lonely child as her father and mother (Satabdi Roy) none has time for her. She was brought up by her Appa (Chumki Choudhury). Shivaji starts loving her as his daughter, and Jaya also forgets her loneliness. But police separated them and produces Shivaji in court. Suddenly Bishal Sarkar kidnaps Jaya and Shivaji saves her. But while doing so he gets injured though kill all villains. Doctors declare him dead but Tathoi or Jaya magically saves his life by singing in front of God and after 20 years with the marriage of Jaya the movie ends.
