Laitha Sree is an Indian film actress best known for her work in Malayalam cinema. She has acted in more than 450 films. She acts mainly in supporting roles. Malayalam-Tamil actress Madhuri is her younger sister.

Biography

Lalitha Sree was born as Subhadra at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. She did impressive roles in films such as ‘Adaminte Variyellu,' ‘Ithiri Poove Chuvanna Poove,' and ‘Balram vs. Tharadas. She is married to Vijayasaradhi and had no children. Later she adopted a daughter, Suchithra. Now she along with her daughter runs a beauty parlour at Chennai.

The movie is set into motion when a large cache of arms is discovered in the land belonging to the local businessman Hussein Sahib (Rizabawa). On investigation, Inspector Varma (Mukesh) finds that Hussein Sahib has no idea about this, but the land was used by someone called Anali Bhaskaran. The Inspector, along with his colleagues Sudhakaran (Jagadeesh) go to arrest Bhaskaran, but they are given a good fight. As the police are being beaten, the screen alternates between a police jeep appearing on the scene and Anali Bhaskaran trying to knife people. Suddenly a hand appears in the scene and beats Bhaskaran.

Palayam Murukan (Manoj K. Jayan) is the underworld goonda leader ruling Palayam market in Kozhikode City. He hails from an aristocratic family and enjoys a good academic background, but got into the crime world during his college days. He was expelled from his house by his sister (Bindu Panicker) after getting jailed for a murder. Hindustan Colony, lying on the suburbs of the city, is a typical Indian city side colony, populated mainly with middle-class and lower-class people who are busy with their own day-to-day issues. The problem of drinking water had been a serious cause, which had been neglected by the ruling class for several years. Goplakrishnan (Jagadish), a resident of the colony is an educated youth, who works as a newspaper boy. Along with his bunch of friends Gopalakrishnan is active in all cultural activities. He is in love with Gowri, daughter of Poomukhath Kurup (Oduvil Unnikrishnan), a corrupted business contractor, who is also his uncle. It was the callousness of Kurup that led to the death of the father of Gopalakrishnan, which has made him a bitter enemy of Kurupp. In the mean time, politics is in turmoil in the state.
