Orlagh Cassidy (born August 17, 1968) is an American actress. She attended the acting conservatory at the State University of New York at Purchase. She made her Broadway debut in Present Laughter with Frank Langella.

Biography

Cassidy was born in Washington D.C. She appeared Off-Broadway in Bright Ideas at MCC. On Bway in Our Country's Good and "Present Laughter"; and regionally in Richard III"(Lady Anne) with Richard Thomas, Mark Lamos directing, and in The Misanthrope at Philadelphia Drama Guild, among other productions. She received a nomination for the 2007 Drama Desk Outstanding Actress in a Play for the Off Broadway production of "The Field"at The Irish Rep.

Cassidy later played D.A. Doris Wolfe on Guiding Light and appeared in many commercials for Cingular Wireless/At&t - She was the mom who was confronting her daughters' as well as her own mother's constant texting (aka The My BFF JILL spot.).

The story begins in Kingston, New York where Emily Parris (Kara Hayward) decides to get back at her fellow classmate, Mary Warren (Georgie Henley), for ruining her audition for a school play. While Mary, forced by the theatre teacher, holds her audition, Emily steals Mary's phone and publishes all of Mary's text on her blog. Mary then retaliates by calling Emily a blog whore in front of the whole school, which landed both girls in the guidance counselor, Gordy Gambhir's (Kal Penn) office. Later that night, Mary writes on her Facebook wall that she will be taking a vow of silence, and afterwards deletes her Facebook and all other social media accounts. This is when Mary gets the idea to create the Sisterhood, and the first members she recruits are Catherine Huang (Willa Cuthrell) and Lavinia Hall (Olivia DeJonge). Together, the three girls venture out into the night, disappearing into the forest by the city border, and begin their ritual.

Vincent MacKenna (Bill Murray) is a Vietnam War veteran and retiree living in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. He is a grumpy alcoholic who smokes and gambles regularly. His wife, Sandy (Donna Mitchell), developed Alzheimer's Disease years ago and can no longer recognize him, but he still does her laundry at a nursing home where she lives and visits her weekly, posing as a doctor. Vincent's only other close friends are a pregnant Russian sex worker named Daka (Naomi Watts) and his cat, Felix. He owes many people money.
