The film features Vijay and Kausalya in the lead roles, while Sujith Sagar plays a pivotal role. The story focuses on the protagonist, who is of a hyper-possessive nature with negative shades and therefore, tries to achieve whatever he desires using any means. The film released with positive reviews and became a successful venture at the box office. This is the first movie where Vijay played a anti-hero role.
Synopsis
Vasanth (Vijay) is a son of a wealthy businessman and grows up with a possessive attitude. This is shown in one scene in a gift shop where he breaks a gift he likes solely because it had already been bought by someone else. He pays the owner to cover the damages, but he responds with a tagline - "If I can't get it, nobody can". He happens to visit Rajasthan, where he meets Priya (Kausalya) and falls in love immediately. Priya is injured in an accident and Vasanth's friend (Vasanth Kumar) rescues her by donating blood. Being unconscious, Priya doesn't know the face of her savior, only the name "Vasanth Kumar".Actors

Priya breaks the affair with Surya after she gets a proposal from a rich man Ajay. Surya by accident becomes invisible. He hits Ajay and advises Priya to give up Ajay. As he is invisible and others can only hear his voice, he tells them that he is God. Taking the advantage of invisibility, he loots a bank. Thamizharasu is the ACP who is assigned to investigate the bank robbery.Later on in the film Surya reveals that he'd loved Priya (Pooja)since his childhood. Shiva (Githan Ramesh) is the only son of a rich businessman (Avinash). He grows up surrounded by money and he is not cared for by his parents, due to his mother dying when he was a young boy and his father is business-minded and only cares about his money. Shiva and his friends are a playful bunch, they do not study and they mainly do lots of sport. Priya (Saloni), who also goes to the college (the college was created and run by Shiva's family) that Shiva goes to, is the daughter of a cow herder and a gangster Mayandi (Lal). Priya keeps her distance from Shiva, but as the film progresses it is inevitable that they become friends. Their friendship then develops into romance, but this love is opposed by both their parents. Both their parents try to separate them, they try to get them married of to different people. They eventually run away together, and a hit man is after Priya's life (hired by Shiva's father). In a confrontation with the hit-man Shiva gets wounded and defeats the hit-man, he then storms into his father's office and throws the hit-man at him. He then informs his father of his wedding in front of the district court. His father turns up with a large battalion of police officers, while Shiva turns up with a much large number of students. The film ends with their wedding successfully happening, and Mayandi gives his blessings.

Vetrivel aka Velu (Vijay) is a car racer who lives with his large family in Chennai. His father, Singamuthu (Manivannan), had gone to Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh to work at a colliery and never returned, prompting Velu and his family to think that he is dead. Velu comes to know that a Malaysia-based don named Koccha (Suman) owes his father a huge sum of money. Velu and his friend Pons (Vivek) travel to Malaysia as Kuruvi, the trade jargon for low-level contraband carriers. They come to Malaysia at a time when internal rivalry and problems are surfacing in Koccha's family. Koccha's younger sister Devi (Trisha Krishnan) has refused to marry Soori (Pawan), the brother of Konda Reddy (Ashish Vidyarthi), Koccha's Kadapa-based business associate, as per Koccha's wishes. Irritated and preoccupied, neither Koccha nor his henchmen want to devote any time or attention to resolve Velu's problem. Velu is ill-treated and thrown out of Koccha's place without any help rendered. Determined to return to India only after his father's issue is solved to his satisfaction, Velu conceals himself in Koccha's palace-like residence. He soon finds out about a large diamond owned by Koccha and steals it, feeling that it would pay off his father's debt, and returns to India with Pons. Devi also follows Velu to India, having fallen in love with him.

Jeevanandhan "Jeeva" (Vijay) is a very rich young man. Although his parents (Sivakumar and Srividhya) want him to settle down, he goes to another city to do his MBA and stays with friends. During this time, he meets Mini (Shalini) and they fall in love. They decide to return home, relinquishing their feelings, and the families are happy and take them back. Jeeva’s Mom wants to see Mini so that she can get a better wife for his son goes to meet Mini. Initially reluctant to welcome them, the brothers hesitate, but their mother is welcomes them, ultimately their families accept their love, and they are reunited.

Thirumalai (Vijay) mechanic who lives in Pudupet and has three close friends for whom he would do anything.
