In the end, the prince kills the villain with the help of the elephant (Thavamani's companion), finds his uncle and eventually marries the girl.

Now Rajam rises in a new avatar as a social rebel and takes up the cudgels against dowry. She is now known as ‘Jayakodi' and prospective bridegrooms demanding dowry begin to vanish mysteriously making people wonder whatever happened to them! After solving many dowry problems, she marries a man after her heart (Natarajan) and the couple carry on their chosen battle against the menace.

Shankar & Bhawariya are childhood lovers who have been parted by unfortunate circumstances. Shankar's cousin Suresh (Deven Verma) is an advocate. Matchmaker Ram comes up with marriage proposals for both the cousins. Following family traditions, it is decided that the boys will meet the respective brides by proxy. Suresh falls in love with Madhumati (Bhawariya). He cooks up a wicked plot. He writes two letters to each of the families. Shankar comes to know that Madhumati is Bhawariya, the girl whom he used to love. In a rift between Shankar & Suresh, Suresh dies accidentally for which Shankar is held the culprit. Madumati who is determined to see her husband's murderer hanged, changes her words & saves Shankar.

Sewakram lives a middle-classed lifestyle in Bombay (India) along with his wife Subhagi, daughter Nirmala and son Lattoo. He works in the Flora Fountain branch of the United Commercial Bank. He is very organized, thrifty and plans to get his children educated, married and also build a house for them. Nirmala befriends Kishore Kumar Shastri, who lives a wealthy lifestyle along with his widower dad, a Deputy, and runs two businesses for supply of sand and cement. Kishore manages to impress everyone in Nirmala's family including her paternal uncle Sadhuram. Sewakram goes to meet Kishore to finalize their marriage and after doing so, he returns to the construction site and is gravely injured when an entire floor collapses. Nirmala finds out that the accident was Kishore's fault and refuses to have to do anything with him. Kishore attempts to woo her back but before he could succeed he is arrested by the police and held in a cell.
