Andrew Blake (born 1947 as Paul Nevitt) is an American adult film director and producer. Blake has described his work as "erotic fashion," and his films usually include fetish, bondage and lesbian imagery, often excluding heterosexual intercourse entirely. Blake's earliest films were primarily works of softcore erotica, however, and that sensibility still informs his pacing and style. Early films made by Blake soon after he came into his own as an independent director are fully explicit and usually combine heterosexual intercourse with lesbian imagery while including much less fetish and bondage content than his later films.
Blake's first major film, Night Trips, was made in 1989, and was awarded the Silver Medal for the Non-Theatrical Release Category at the Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival. Andrew Blake holds the distinction of being the first adult director to win a film award at a mainstream international film festival.
Andrew Blake's films are characterized by high production values, artistic stylization, and rigorous technique. His style has been compared to that of the seminal fashion photographer Helmut Newton, and described as "decadent, lush, opulent, unfailingly arousing, moneyed and sophisticated." Blake's contemporaries include the established pornographic director/producers Viv Thomas, Michael Ninn, Roy Stuart and Marc Dorcel.

Andrew Blake began his career working on movies for Playboy, but shifted to working independently in the 1990s. Most of Blake's films are released through his own production company, Studio A. Andrew Blake is a member of the AVN Hall of Fame. Blake's films usually feature original music scores by the composer Raoul Valve.

S'étant déjà essayé au nu en tant que photographe amateur, il produisit vers 1983 un clip érotique d'une dizaine de minutes pour la chaîne Playboy. Il continua à travailler pour Playboy puis pour Penthouse, comme photographe et réalisateur. C'est à cette époque qu'il décida de faire des films hard avec de jolies femmes et des décors somptueux, en réalisant tout d'abord Night trips (Des choses dans la nuit en V.F.) en 1989. Le premier film à rencontrer un gros succès fut Obsessions cachées (Hidden obsessions) en 1993. Il réalisa encore quelques films avec l'aide de sa femme, puis créa sa propre boîte de production Studio A.

Andrew Blake a étudié la peinture à l'université. Ne se sentant pas assez doué dans cette spécialité, il commença à travailler pour une chaîne de télévision locale en marge de ses études. Puis il devint directeur artistique d'une chaîne de télé à Boston, où il put travailler sur différents sujets tels que la photographie ou l'animation. Puis il fut engagé par CBS à New York, toujours comme directeur artistique.Il s'orienta plutôt vers l'animation, retournant à Boston pour suivre sa femme qui y suivait des cours d'art, puis à Los Angeles.
