Henki Kolstad (3 February 1915 – 14 July 2008) was a Norwegian actor, considered one of country's best and most versatile actors. He had his theatrical debut at the age of 13, in 1928, for Nationaltheatret (The National Theater). Two years later he acted in his first movie, titled Eskimo. In addition to Nationaltheatret, he also worked for Trøndelag Teater, Det nye Teater, Edderkoppen and Centralteatret. Kolstad was perhaps most famous for his role in the movie "the Olsen Gang", for his role in the children's series "Jul i Skomakergata" and as "Herr Klinke" in Den Spanske Flue. He also had a number of roles in several movies, such as Vi Gifter Oss from 1951. Among the awards he received during his career was an honorary Amanda in 1990, and Commander of the Order of St. Olav.

Kolstad married his wife Else in 1938, and the couple had just celebrated their 70th anniversary before Henki's death. They had been a couple for 76 years. Together they had a son and two daughters. Henki's younger brother, Lasse Kolstad, is also a well-known actor.

In the village of Flåklypa, Lom, Gudbrandsdalen (En. Pinchcliffe), the inventor Reodor Felgen (En. Theodore Rimspoke) lives with his animal friends Ludvig (En. Lambert) (a nervous, pessimistic and melancholic hedgehog) and Solan (En. Sonny Duckworth) (a cheerful and optimistic magpie). Reodor works as a bicycle repairman, though he spends most of his time inventing weird Rube Goldberg-like contraptions. One day, the trio discover that one of Reodor's former assistants, Rudolf Blodstrupmoen (En. Rudolph Gore-Slimey), has stolen his design for a race car engine and has become a world champion Formula One driver. Solan secures funding from Arab oil sheik Ben Redic Fy Fazan (En. Abdul Ben Bonanza), who happens to be vacationing in Flåklypa, and to enter the race, the trio builds a gigantic racing car: Il Tempo Gigante—a fabulous construction with two extremely big engines (weighing 2.8 tons alone and making the seismometer in Bergen show 7.8 Richter when started the first time), a body made out of copper, a spinning radar (that turns out to be useful when Blodstrupmoen starts engaging in smoke warfare during the race) and its own blood bank. Reodor ends up winning despite Blodstrupmoen's attempts at sabotage.

In 1890 Kristiania (Oslo), an impoverished and lonely writer named Pontus (Per Oscarsson) comes to the city from the country. He stands on a bridge, overlooking running water, writing but clearly starving. He visits a pawnbroker several times. He sells his waistcoat for a few cents, then gives the money to a beggar. Other money that falls into his hands he also gives away. He has written an article that a newspaper editor (Henki Kolstad) agrees to publish if he makes some corrections, but Pontus is too proud to accept an advance when offered, so he leaves elated but still hungry. He begs a bone for his dog, which he gnaws on secretly in an alley. He often has the chance to make things better for himself, but his pride gets in the way, such as when he declines the much-needed help of a worried friend.
