James Gilbert (born 1982) is a Canadian film, television, and stage actor.
James is best known for his role as William Brereton in the Showtime historical drama series, The Tudors. James has most recently starred in the remake of Moby Dick (2011), along with William Hurt, Ethan Hawke and Eddie Marsan and the suspense thriller The Corridor, which was filmed in Nova Scotia. He has also appeared in numerous television shows such as Nikita, Rookie Blue, Flashpoint, The Border, Degrassi: The Next Generation, and My Daughter's Secret. Other film credits include American Soldiers, Saw VI, and The Cry of the Owl with Julia Stiles and Paddy Considine. James is a graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, Scotland.
James was born and raised in Nova Scotia, he now splits his time between Toronto and Los Angeles.

Aaron and Jim are filmmakers who, after receiving a link to an online video that mocks a local conspiracy theorist, decide to make a documentary film about him. The man, Terrance G., shows them a billboard that he uses to catalog information and draw connections between events. Impressed with his dedication and the depth of his research, the documentary takes a sympathetic but skeptical view of Terrance's beliefs. During an outdoors interview, Terrance becomes agitated and points out a man whom he believes to be following him. Shortly afterward, Terrance disappears without a trace. Worried, Aaron and Jim investigate and find that Terrance's apartment is being cleared out. Aaron salvages Terrance's work and recreates it on his own wall. When Aaron claims to have found the connecting conspiracy that Terrance was investigating, Jim reluctantly agrees to pursue it further for the documentary. When Aaron's house is broken into, he moves in with Jim and his family, who view Aaron's increasing obsession with the Tarsus club with alarm.

Predatory lenders Simone and Eddie awaken on either side of a room split by a cage containing a scale, wearing head harnesses with screws poised to pierce their temples. They learn via videotape that the one who sets more flesh weight on their tray will survive. Eddie cuts fat from his torso, but Simone chops off her arm, which tilts the scale in her favor; the timer expires, and Eddie is killed by the screws. While he reviews the game's footage, Detective Lt. Mark Hoffman is called to the scene by FBI Agent Dan Erickson, who found Agent Peter Strahm's fingerprints around the room. Also present is Agent Lindsey Perez, whose survival was covered up by Erickson for her protection. They learn from Dr. Adam Heffner, who performed all of the autopsies for the Jigsaw case, that the knife used to cut the jigsaw piece from Eddie's flesh was only used on Seth Baxter before then. The agents intend to find the Baxter videotape to prove Strahm's involvement.
