Dharma is a 1998 Tamil action film directed by Keyaar. The film features Vijayakanth and Preetha Vijayakumar in lead roles. The film, produced by A. Abbas Rowther, had musical score by Ilaiyaraaja and was released on 9 July 1998. The film is a remake of the Hindi film Ziddi. It was dubbed in Telugu as Vikram Dharma.
Synopsis
Dharma (Vijayakanth) lives with his lawyer father (Jaishankar), his mother (Vadivukkarasi), his journalist brother Vijay (Thalaivasal Vijay) and beloved sister Geetha (Shilpa). Dharma and Sharmila (Preetha Vijayakumar) fall in love with each other. Dharma is an angry man who cannot tolerate injustice. One day, his sister is molested by a rowdy Raja and Dharma kills him in public. Thus, he is sent in jail. In the meantine, Ranjith (Ranjith), Dharma's friend, becomes an ACP.Actors

Sivaji is the loving elder step-brother of Rajinikanth and Vijaybabu. After his marriage, his wife (Vadivukkarasi) sends his brothers out when he goes to Chennai. Rajini, the older of the two, toils and becomes a taxi driver to educate and treat his brother. But his brother strays and gets mixed up with some wrong-doers. The film centres on Shashanka, a dacoit who starts off as a Robin Hood type before lapsing into mass, and merciless, killings. He then falls in love with the daughter of one of his captives, only to be spurned. The dejected dacoit commits suicide. Rajinikanth finds himself to be an orphan. He travels from his village to Madras. There he meets Janakaraj, who gives him a job. By some magical situation, Rajni discovers himself to be a son of a dead millionaire—through Visu. Visu is the guardian of Rajni's father's trust.
