Electroboy is a 2014 Swiss documentary film directed by Marcel Gisler about the life of Florian Burkhardt, alias Electroboy, model, snowboard pioneer, advertiser, author, party organizer and composer during the 1990s, who now suffers from a generalized anxiety.

Synopsis

« Tout est possible à celui qui y croit », un dicton qui illustre bien le parcours de Florian Burkhardt. A 20 ans il s'envole pour Hollywood, puis il est successivement top model pour les couturiers les plus prestigieux, Icône de photographes célèbres, pionnier visionnaire d'internet à la tête d'une start-up dont les projets innovateurs séduisent les plus grandes entreprises suisses, avant d'organiser sous le nom d'Electroboy des soirées gigantesques où tout le monde se presse. Il a réussi avec éclat tout ce qu’il a entrepris sauf l’essentiel: se libérer de soi.

Beni, age 15, becomes enamoured with a singer from the rock band "The Minks", Fögi Müller, who is ten years older than him. Fögi ensnares him with the perceived glamor of being a musician, takes him on as the band's 'roadie', and at the same time seduces him. Beni unquestionably follows him, including following him into drug addiction. Beni's youthful innocence is destroyed in a milieu of sex, drinking, drugs, and rock-and-roll. He ends up prostituting himself to pay for Fögi's drug habit.

The plot is loosely connected to the documental stories published in Jim Corbett's 1944 bestselling book Man-Eaters of Kumaon. Narrator of the film is Jim Corbett. In the film, Corbett, who is portrayed by Christopher Heyerdahl, is asked to kill a man-eating tiger who killed a young woman in Kumaon. Corbett arrives to Kumaon and meets with local people. The sister (Mishra Smriti) of the victim takes Corbett to the killing site. They together ambush the man-eater and Corbett kills the tiger from the machan. During this plot, the narration (by Corbett) contains stories of the history of India and the Kumaon region, as well as the efforts to save Indian tigers.
