Produced by Ananth Govindan and Arun Vaidyanathan under the Everest Entertainment banner, it was distributed by ABITCS Studios, Thirukumaran Entertainment and RPP Film Factory. Krishnan Vasant was the cinematographer and Arrora the music composer. The film released on 6 December 2013 and received positive reviews from critics.

The movie begins with two young kids who fight each other in a marriage hall. They meet after two decades, now Krishna (Prasanna) and Ramya (Laila) during a college cultural meet and again lock horns with each other. Fate brings them together in Chennai after a few years, again fighting with each other. Meanwhile, a series of events forces Krishna's close friend Aravindh (Karthik Kumar) to come to India from the USA to get married. His parents arrange his wedding with Ramya. Ramya, who decides to get married to help her younger sister's love, displays herself as a passive character who accepts whatever the life partner feel is right. On the contrary, she is bold, active, independent and assertive in nature. Knowing this, Krishna tries hard to let her true character come out. However, Aravindh stalls the wedding plans and returns to the USA as he finds Ramya as a person who does not think on her own and not independent. Mistaking Krishna for influencing Aravindh, Ramya locks horns with him.

Aishwarya (Hansika Motwani) falls in love with Karthik (Jayam Ravi) assuming that he is a rich. But, once she realizes that he is just an ordinary gym instructor, she leaves him and wants to get together with a rich man Arjun (Vamsi Krishna). With Karthik standing in her way and threatening to break her relationship with the millionaire, Aishwarya, is now forced to find a suitable girl for Karthik. Aishu finds hot Nisha (Poonam Bajwa) for Karthik. Aishu soon gets disturbed with the rich lifestyle given by Arjun. Aishwarya is now forced by Arjun to workout, make her handwriting very nice, making her hair style look so different in a song of Idharkuthane Aasapadhai Balakumari.In a temple, Karthik tells her that his engagement with Nisha is going to happen on the night before Valentines Day. At the same time Arjun along with Aishwarya plan to go to London. On the night she is supposed to leave, she realizes that she doesn't wanna live this kind of robotic life with Arjun and tells him that she loves Karthik. She goes to the place where Karthik and Nisha's are going to get engaged. She professes her love but Karthik refuses her as she had done to him and leaves the place with Nisha. But then a song plays and Karthik reveals all of this is a play orchestrated by Nisha and him, make Aishwarya realize her mistake and to make her realize her love for him. The story ends with Karthik and Aishwarya reunited.

The entire film shoot was at Golden Rock, Tiruchirappalli. Murugan & Kesavan realise the real value of the life & they decide that life is nothing without doing work so they both go to their respective homes & while seeing their father's photo Murugan & Kesavan write that " DAD IS MY GOD " & " MY FATHER IS HERO " respectively.

Ramji Narayanaswami Iyer (Madhavan), a naive and docile Tamil Brahmin (Palakkad Iyer) cook, dreams of marrying off his sister Bhagyam (Divyadarshini) to a good family, as they are orphans and it becomes his sole responsibility. The story focuses on five friends Prabu, Elango, Sundar, Indra and Priya at the Madras Institute of Technology, who want to remain friends throughout their lifespan and hope to join the same company after graduation. The movie starts with Sugan(Karthi) and his friend Parasuram(Premgi Amaren ) being chased by cops. The flashback shows Sugan as a playboy who has a weakness for Biryani and Parasuram who is his childhood friend. Sugans playboy attitude always gets him into a fight with his girlfriend Priyanka(Hansika Motwani). Sugan and Parasuram attending a function for branch opening of one of their offices where they meet Varadharajan(Nassar), who is the chief guest for the ceremony. In the meantime, its shown that a CBI officer Riyaz Khan (Sampath Raj) has been deputed to track Vardharajan's illegal activities. Varadharajan gets impressed with Sugan and decides later to make him his son-in law and this decision gets him into an argument with his other son in law Vijayakrishna(Ramki).
