Its story was conceived by lyricist Gireesh Puthenchery and the screenplay was written by Raghunath Paleri. The film was directed by Rajasenan, produced by Mani C. Kappan in the banner of Okay Productions and distributed by Okay Release. It was one of the highest grossing Malayalam films of the early 1990s. It made the list of "14 Greatest Malayalam Movies Ever" as compiled by Manorama News.
The title comes from the fact that all three sons, Jayakrishnan (Jagathy Sreekumar), Gopikrishnan (Vijayaraghavan), and Harikrishnan (Jayaram), of Thrivikraman Pillai (Narendra Prasad) and Bhanumathi Meena of the Meleparambil family are bachelors. Along with that includes Kannappan (Janardanan), Bhanumathi's brother who is also a bachelor.
Synopsis
Harikrishan (Jayaram) is the youngest son of Thrivikram Muthallali. His brothers Jayakrishnan and Gopikrishan are not as handsome as him. He wants to earn a good living and so sets forth to a Tamil village as manager of a courier company. Hari sees a young Tamil woman named Pavizham who is being forced by her father to get married against her will. The two fall in love and elope.Actors

The film tells the story of a rich orphan - Apputtan, a generous and liberal man. He helps settle the financial woes of people in the village. He is attracted to a girl whose education he has been sponsoring. But her response to his love after becoming a doctor at his expense, was something Apputtan had least expected. As Apputtan has studied only up to high school, she treats him like an illiterate. The film ends well with the girl developing interest towards Apputtan.

Mahadevan (Jayaram) and Kumaran (Janardhanan) work in a small firm and are room mates renting from Janakiamma (Meena). One day, luck comes to them when Mahadevan wins a car as the first prize of a promotional contest held by a washing-powder brand. Meanwhile, a murderer, Ambrose (Abu Salim) is after Maya. By mistake, both the murderer and Mahadevan get the same tag number on their cars' license plates. The murderers try a hit-and-run attack on Maya, but she escapes. She thinks that Mahadevan who did it. Mahadevan gets arrested by sub-inspector Cherian (Kalabhavan Mani) according to Maya's complaint. But due to lack of proper evidence, he's released with a warning. After getting through problems one after another, Mahadevan finds the real killers and their car. He tells Maya about the killers who attempted for her life. Shockingly it is revealed that one of the killers is Maya's Vishnu who is after her wealth. Vishnu tries to kill Maya, but Mahadevan stops him. In an attempt to kill Mahadevan and Maya, Vishnu dies by falling on a sharp object. In an attempt to dump his body, the couple is stopped by Vishnu's accomplice, Ambrose. He's enraged by his friend's death and tries to kill Mahadevan and Maya. But ends up at the dead end of the road, where the cops were waiting for him with an armed force. The car catches fire from the gunshots and explodes, killing him. The film ends with sub-inspector Cherian thanking Mahadevan and Maya, for their help and support.

Appu (Jayaram) and Maya (Manju Warrier) were childhood sweethearts, and their parents had agreed to their marriage. Appu is treated by Maya's father as his own son and this makes her uncle jealous of him. Maya's mother belongs a branch of local royal family. However, Maya's life turns upside down when she is identified as the heir to her mother's royal family after her horoscope matched with the qualities that the royal family was looking for. Payyarathu Padmanabhan Nair(Kalamandalam Kesavan), who is a well known personality is Praised by the people. He lives precedence life with his whole family members(Kootukudumbam), his Friend Reeve Sankunni(Oduvil Unnikrishnan) and Servant Kuttan(Kalabhavan Mani). Later Padmanabhan Nair asks Sankunni 'Who is Ramanathan ?' and Sankunni reveals the truth. Padmanabhan Nair rushes to his son and hugs him. But he is in delema that he wanted to accept his son but he can't reveal the truth to the family to save his reputation. The hurted Ramanathan Challenges his father he will accept and tell the truth to whole family.
