Ontari Poratam (English: Lonely Battle, Telugu: ఒంటరి పోరాటం) is a 1989 Telugu film directed by K. Raghavendra Rao and produced by D.V.S.S.Prasad on Sri Krishna Prasanna Enterprises. Starring Venkatesh, Swetha and Rupini played the lead roles and music composed by Chakravarthy. The film was Average at the box office.

Synopsis

Raja (Venkatesh) an uneducated intelligent guy works as a daily labor. Priyanka (Swetha) daughter of Sudarshan Rao (Satyanarayana) a multimillionaire has a lot of arrogance and ego. Raja Rajeswari Devi (Jayasudha) Priyanka's lecturer always instigates her ego. Indu (Rupini) unemployed educated woman lives in a small room opposite to Prinyanka's house along with two more unemployed educated guys Scientist (Sudhakar) & Engineer (Guru). Indu & her gang meets Raja and all them becomes good friends. Raja & Priyanka always have silly fights & quarrels with each other.

Ramu (NTR) is a lorry driver who personally does not tolerate injustice anywhere. With his hard work, he soon becomes a lorry owner. He has a blind sister Meena (Roja Ramani) to whom he is very affectionate. A police inspector by the name of Raja Reddy (Sridhar), admiring Ramu's sincerity and truthfulness, comes forward to marry the blind girl. Meanwhile, Chukkamma (Jayasudha), who runs a small hotel on the highway, and Ramu fall in love with each other. Ramu renders help to one of Chukkamma’s relatives, another lorry driver named Vasu (Kaikala Satyanarayana). They become good friends. Kamal Babu (Mohan Babu) soon enters the scene, implicates Ramu in a smuggling case and succeeds in sending him to jail. How Ramu manages to prove his innocence and brings the story to its logical, happy end constitutes the rest of the narrative.

Manchi Donga, has Chiranjeevi as Veerendra who liked by one and all. Even though he is a thief, Veerendra he follows certain principles. Suryam and Chandram are father and son who are involved in an illegal occupation. Madhavi (Suhasini) who is a lawyer, meets Veerendra and she is attracted towards him for his kindheartedness towards poor people. Vijaya (Vijayasanthi), a friend of Madhavi enters the city as a police inspector. She warns Veerendra for his activities but Madhavi supports him. Once Veerendra steals an evidence from Gannayya, who is also a corrupt person and this has all the details of the activities of Suryam and Chandram. He hands it over to inspector Vijaya. She is very much impressed with his deed and now develops a soft corner for him. After a couple of songs, veerendra decides to marry Vijaya, while Madhavi sacrifices her silent love for her friend. Veerendra surrenders to the police and is sent to jail. He studies in jail and becomes a police inspector. After his release, he deals with anti-social elements with iron hand and also gets sword of honour for his efforts.
