Superman: Requiem is a 2011 superhero fan film that is based on the Richard Donner series of Superman films starring Christopher Reeve. Gene Fallaize wrote and directed the film, which stars Martin Richardson as Superman, along with Stacy Sobieski, and Paul Khanna. The film features a cameo performance by Jack O'Halloran who played Non in Superman (1978).
The film focuses on how Superman deals with losing his powers after Lex Luthor's estranged son Alex plants a bomb laced with Kryptonite with the intention of stripping Superman of his powers to force him to reveal the location of some land that Alex's father left him before his death.
The bulk of the film was shot in and around Central London, with second unit photography footage shot in Manhattan which stood in for Metropolis.
It had a gala premiere at London's Odeon Covent Garden before being streamed on Openfilm for free, and later on YouTube.Synopsis
The story mainly focuses on the inner battle Superman (Richardson) must face after he loses most of his powers after being exposed to Kryptonite by a bomb that was planted by Alex Luthor (Khanna) in an attempt to weaken the Man of Steel. Clark confides in his new love interest at the Daily Planet, Ali Noels, who soon discovers his true identity as Superman, and she helps him realize that he is a symbol for all that is good, and even without his powers he must still try to stand for his original values.
