Synopsis
Julie, qui enchaîne les petits boulots précaires depuis des années, vient de décrocher un CDI à Romans-sur-Isère, la « capitale mondiale de la chaussure de luxe ». Pour Julie, ce nouveau départ rime avec nouvel espoir. À peine sa période d’essai commencée, la rumeur d’un plan social se propage dans l’usine d’escarpins où travaille la jeune femme. Tandis que les ouvrières commencent à se révolter en chansons contre la fermeture, Julie doit faire face à un dilemme : s’engager dans la lutte ou bien préserver son CDI en faisant profil bas ? Choisissant cette dernière option, Julie va pourtant se retrouver bientôt en première ligne.Actors

The film is set in the fictional County Durham mining town of Everington Village during the 1984-85 UK miners' strike, and centres on the character of 11-year-old Billy Elliot, his love of dance, and his hopes of becoming a professional ballet dancer. Billy lives with his widowed father, Jackie, and older brother, Tony, both coal miners out on strike (the latter being the union leader), and also his maternal grandmother, who probably has Alzheimer's disease and once aspired to be a professional dancer. Billy's mother, Jenny, died on 2 December 1983, aged 38.

Francis Bergeade, owner of a toilet seats and brushes' factory in Dole, has just turned 65 and his life is a misery. Avec l'arrivée du cinéma parlant et les prémices du Technicolor les grandes compagnies cinématographiques hollywoodiennes décidèrent de mettre en chantier ce que l'on n'appelait pas encore "superproduction". De fait il s'agissait de réunir dans un même film l'ensemble des acteurs composant leurs écuries respectives. Ainsi la Warner Bros. fit-elle réaliser son The Show of Shows tandis que de son côté La Métro sortait Hollywood chante et danse rassemblant ses comédiens parmi lesquels naturellement Stan Laurel et Oliver Hardy. Pas de scénario dans ce fil qui est composé d'une succession de numéros musicaux pour lesquels les acteurs furent invités à faire un peu le contraire de ce qu'ils faisaient d'habitude à l'écran. Laurel et Hardy s'en tirent plutôt bien en jouant les présentateurs magiciens.

In 1927, Roxie Hart sees star Velma Kelly perform ("All That Jazz") at a Chicago theater. Wanting stardom for herself, she begins an affair with Fred Casely, who claims to know the manager. After the show, Velma is arrested for killing her husband Charlie and sister Veronica, who were in bed together. A month later, Casely admits to Roxie that he has no showbiz connections and just wanted her body. Enraged, she shoots him dead. She convinces her husband Amos to take the blame, telling him she killed a burglar in self-defense. As Amos confesses to the detective, Roxie fantasizes that she is singing a song devoted to her husband ("Funny Honey"). However, when the detective brings up evidence that Roxie and Casely were having an affair, Amos recants; Roxie furiously admits what really happened and is arrested. Ambitious District Attorney Harrison announces he will seek the death penalty.

Ted Scott (Payne) is a band pianist whose publicity manager decides that, for good press, the band should adopt a foreign refugee. The band goes to Ellis Island to meet the girl and soon discovers that the refugee isn't a 10-year-old child, but a young woman, Karen Benson (Henie). The surprise comes right before the band is to travel to Sun Valley, Idaho for a Christmas gig. While on the ski slopes Ted soon falls for Karen's inventive schemes to win the heart of her new sponsor, much to the chagrin of his girlfriend, Vivian Dawn (Bari), a soloist with the band. Vivian promptly quits the band out of jealousy, and Karen stages an elaborate ice show as a substitute.
