The First Time is a 2009 American teen comedy film directed by Barbara Topsøe-Rothenborg, based on the book Love At First Hicup by Dennis Jürgensen. The film is an American remake of the Danish film Kærlighed ved første hik, which was released in 1999.

The film is centered on a high school freshman Victor (played by Devon Werkheiser), who falls in love with the beautiful senior Anya (played by Scout Taylor-Compton) at "first hiccup." The film follows their budding romance as they learn to overcome the little hiccups that can be found in all relationships.

Synopsis

Freshman, Victor Knudsen, falls for the beautiful senior, Anya Benton. When introducing himself he hiccups as he says his name. The student body soon begins to mock him, especially Anya's boyfriend Peter, who calls him "Viccup". At a party, Victor and Anya bump into each other and they share a Spider-Man style kiss to stop his hiccups, which ends up being a dream.

Mollie is an accountant living in New York City who has an affair with Albert, a womanizing executive who is married with two children, and becomes pregnant. The movie picks up where it left off, where Mikey is expecting a sister and being the big brother. James and Mollie Ubriacco, now happily married, are preoccupied by Mikey's fear of monsters. Chu Chi-Ang paints flowers on the bloody white cloth with Susan's virgin blood so they can keep it as a semimetal item. Fanny begins to hate Susan as she envious her for having a much gentle lover like Chu Chi-Ang. She realizes that Sir Lui really wanted Susan, but choose her because he is considerate of his friend. After Sir Lui buys her from the brothel, as a concubine, she vows revenge on Susan.
