Le Trésor de l'avare (The Usurer's Grip) est un film américain de Charles Brabin sorti en 1912.

Synopsis

Une famille dont la petite fille est malade contracte un emprunt à un taux usuraire auprès d'un 'loan shark' (usurier escroc). Incapable de repayer les traites exorbitantes, le père perd son emploi. Par chance, il trouve un nouveau patron qui va l'aider à contracter un nouvel emprunt à un taux normal et à se débarrasser de ses traites.

Four years after her vaudevillian husband's death, Kitty Lorraine, a frustrated former performer, marries comic Ralph Martin and returns to the stage, leaving behind her four-year-old daughter Shirley with her former in-laws. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas are affluent New Yorkers who are unhappy that their adult children, Ralph Thomas (Robert Young) and Phyl Thomas (Margaret Perry), spend so many evenings at parties instead of spending time with family. Their disapproval deepens when they discover both children want to move out to pursue lifestyles that the parents deem unacceptable: Phyl moves into her own apartment so that she can conduct an affair with a married man, Duff Wilson (David Newell).
