Vasu is a 2002 Telugu film produced by K. S. Rama Rao on Creative Commercials banner, written and directed by A. Karunakaran. Starring Venkatesh, Bhoomika Chawla played lead roles and soundtrack was scored by Harris Jayaraj. It was later dubbed in Tamil as Vetri. The film recorded as Average at box-office, it was Venkatesh's 50th film.

Synopsis

After graduation, Vasu (Venkatesh) runs a college canteen, music school and teaches music for seven years to make his living. His father (Vijay Kumar) is an IPS officer and he wants Vasu to appear for Civil Services examinations to take up IPS career. But Vasu has different plans for his future. He dreams of becoming a musician and a singer.

Dharmayya Naidu (Vijaya Kumar) is an underworld kingpin who lost his wife because he is uneducated. Hence he wants to felicitate education in his seema area by constructing schools. He realizes that the quarry he owns has good quality granite deposits. Samba (NTR) is the son of Dharmayya Naidu. Prakash (Prakash Raj) is the son-in-law of Dharmayya Naidu. Prakash plays the game in such a way that Dharmayya Naidu is forced to give granite quarry as a dowry to Prakash's family, due to which Dharmayya Naidu's daughter commits suicide. When Samba comes to know the reason behind his sister's suicide, he occupies the quarry and kills the brothers of Prakash. Prakash kills everybody in the house of Samba in retaliation.

Yuvakudu is the story of a free spirited college student, Siva (Sumanth), who shares a very close bond with his mother, played by Jayasudha. Sindhu accepts the proposal saying that she's doing so only for the sake of Siva's mother. Despite a rocky start to their marriage, their relationship finally settles down. However the story takes an unexpected turn when Siva is selected into the Army. He joins the army against the wishes of his mother and their relationship turns sour. How Siva eventually proves himself in the line of duty and reconciles with his mother forms the rest of the story.

Vamsi (Gopichand) is the son of an affluent handloom house owner Muddu Krishna Rao (Paruchuri Venkateshwara Rao). He happens to fall in love with a girl Bujji (Bhavana) who is an orphan and stays in a hostel. With the consent of his parents, Vamsi tries to get engaged with Bujji. But she was kidnapped by a group of gangsters. Bujji is attempted to molest by one of gangster brother (Ajay) who is roughed up by Vamsi. The gangster (Ashish Vidyarthi) vows to take revenge and on the day of Gopichand marriage with Bujji. He kidnaps and rapes her in front of the hero. All this mishap happens because of support of MLA {Rajiv Kanakala} who is the close friend of Vamsi as he is promised with minister berth by the gangster and stabs Vamsi. Vamsi arrives Hyderabad and tries to trace the gangsters. Because of his betrayal, Vamsi kills his MLA friend Raghava (Rajiv Kanakala). Later in the movie, Sayaji Shinde interviews Vamsi's parents and family members because Vamsi is in a state of hallucination and he didn't know until he told him. The cop Syyaji Shinde investigates the case though at the end he catches the hero but releases him and gives his support for killing gangsters. The hero kills Lal Mahankali (Asish Vidyarthi) and rips his brother's arm off. Vamsi's dad tells him that Bujji dies the day of the engagement because she jumped off a rock building.

But Ravi braves the goons who chase them and fights the tears of heartbreak and decides to help Swathi meet her lover. This draws ire from Ravi’s friends who had helped him all along in his love story. They think Ravi should dump the girl. He disagrees and they desert him. Armed only with unflinching, selfless love Ravi embarks on an adventure with Swathi to find her lover Chandu. Finally he manages to fight the goons of Swathi’s brother and unites Swathi and Chandu. Ravi’s selfless sacrifice melts Swathi’s heart and makes her wonder what true love was.
