Writer Gunther Strobbe made his ladyfriend pregnant and looks back at this youth. He lived together with his father, grandmother and uncles in a house in the fictitious town of Reetveerdegem. Much of his youth was about drinking, cigarettes, women, and truancy. Heavier themes include addiction, criminality, and death.
In a small town near the Belgian border, cattle farmer Jacky visits a distant relative and intimidates him into selling cows. In the local area, a mafia deals in illegal hormones and controls the cattle and meat trade. The farmers sell cows to the mafia, who inject the cows with hormones and the cows are made into food. We soon learn that Jacky is injecting himself with steroids intended for cattle.
Five married men share ownership of an upmarket loft, which they use to discreetly meet their respective mistresses. When the body of a murdered woman is found in that loft, the men begin to suspect each other of having committed the gruesome crime, as they are the only ones with keys to the premises. Through flashbacks, which are intertwined by scenes from the present, the story is unravelled.

In Seraing, an industrial town in Liège, Belgium, Sandra is a young wife and mother, who works in a small solar-panel factory. During her absence, her colleagues realize they are able to cover her shifts by working slightly longer hours and the management proposes a €1,000 bonus to all staff if they agree to make Sandra redundant. Sandra later returns to work and discovers that her fate rests in the hands of her sixteen co-workers, and she must visit each of them over the course of a weekend to persuade them to reject the monetary bonus. However, most of the co-workers need the proposed bonus for their own families and Sandra faces an uphill battle to keep her job before the crucial vote on Monday morning.

The Flemish boys Lars, Philip and Jozef are somewhere between 20 and 30 years of age and each has a physical handicap. Jozef is almost blind and needs to use a magnifier. Philip suffers from paraplegia. He can only move his head and can use one hand which gives him the strength to control his automated wheelchair. Lars has an incurable brain tumor a side effect of which is that he is restricted to a wheelchair as a result of his increasing paralysis. The three are good friends and visit each other frequently.
The 39-year-old chemist Bruno Davert has been working for a Belgian paper mill for 15 years, improving products and saving money for the shareholders. One day, the company announces that it is forced to "downsize", so 600 staff are laid off and many of their jobs are instead outsourced to a company in Romania. The result is a 16% increase in dividends to the company shareholders.

Jung Sik-jun est un jeune garçon né à Séoul, en Corée du Sud, en 1965. Dans le cadre d'un programme d'adoption après la guerre de Corée, il est adopté par une famille belge en 1971 et grandit en Belgique. Le film relate les moments importants de son enfance et de son adolescence en alternant des séquences documentaires actuelles, des images d'archive et des scènes animées formant des reconstitutions fictionnelles de moments du passé de Jung.
