Andula is a working-class young woman living in a fading Czech factory town, where, due to an oversight in central state planning, women outnumber men 16-1. The film opens with an intimate scene between Andula and her fellow shoe-factory-worker friend as they lie in bed in their dormitory discussing the ring given to Andula by her boyfriend Tonda and gossiping about her mildly flirtatious encounter with a forest ranger, which is shown in flashback.

Le comte d'Artigas a mis sur pied une bande de pirates qui écume les épaves voire coule intentionnellement les navires marchands à l'aide d'un sous-marin ultramoderne, lui-même dérobé. Après qu'un soldat ait coupé le bras du cousin du roi, celui-ci décide de désactiver l'armée. Bien entendu, les généraux n'apprécient pas du tout cette décision et tentent de tuer le roi. Le maréchal Krieger, un terrible dictateur, attrape la peste blanche, une maladie contre laquelle seul le docteur Galén possède le remède pouvant amener à la guérison. Cependant, comme le docteur ne veut livrer son secret qu'en échange de la paix, le dictateur accède à sa demande et le fait venir chez lui. Alice appears to be in her own bedroom, when a taxidermically stuffed rabbit comes to life and breaks out of its glass case. Alice follows the rabbit through the drawer of a desk into a cavern. She subsequently falls through a bucket and seemingly down an elevator shaft. Wonderland itself is a mix of drab household-like areas with incongruous relationships of space and size. The Queen's execution sentences are carried out by the White Rabbit with a pair of scissors. At the film's end, Alice wakes in her room, discovers that the rabbit is still missing from his glass case, and finds a secret compartment where he keeps scissors. She ponders whether or not she will cut his head off. The film is ambiguous about whether this room is Alice's real world or "Wonderland".

It is the turn from the nineteenth to the twentieth century. The Prague police commissar Ledvina asked the famous New York detective Nick Carter, who is on a visit to Prague, for assistance to solve the strange case of a missing dog. Mysterious murder cases happenen during the investigations, done by the malicious botanist Baron von Kratzmar and his carnivorous plant Adele. Von Kratzmar kidnapped his victims, bound them and whenever he played a gramophone with the melody "Schlafe, mein Prinzchen" (a lullaby by Bernhard Flies but previously associated with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart) it is the time for Adele to awaken and eat her victims for dinner. Baron von Kratzmar considered himself a misjudged genius and wanted to take revenge on one of his former professors. He called himself "the Gardener" a notorious criminal, who Nick Carter thought had died in the swamps years ago. With the help of bizarre inventions, Ledvina and Carter succeed in catching von Kratzmar and delivering him to the legal authorities.

In the frontier town of Stetson City, Arizona, in 1885, business is booming at the Trigger Whisky Saloon. Tornado Lou, the local chanteuse, regales the saloon-goers with a sultry ballad ("Když v báru housne dým"), while the saloon owner Doug Badman tries in vain to woo her. Two evangelists, Ezra Goodman and his daughter Winnifred, enter the bar attempting to drum up interest in their temperance movement, but the saloon's hard-drinking cowboys scorn them. Into the fracas steps a stranger: Lemonade Joe, a lone cowboy singing the praises of Kolaloka, a non-alcoholic soft drink (in Czech, limonàda, hence the name). His superior gunfighting skill quickly convinces the saloon-goers of the benefits of teetotalism. Before long, Joe and the Goodmans have joined forces, Joe has begun courting Winnifred, and all the cowboys in Stetson City have transferred their loyalty to the cathedral-like God Bless Kolaloka Saloon ("Arizóna, to je pravých mužů zóna").

Diamonds of the Night begins with two young men fleeing from a train taking them to a concentration camp. The film employs little dialog and the boys escape through rugged and unfamiliar terrain is interpolated with dreams, memories, hallucinations, fantasies, and flashbacks. They encounter a woman on a farm and one boy struggles with thoughts of murder and rape before silently taking a loaf of bread from the woman's kitchen and leaving. Eventually, the boys are caught by members of a local shooting party. The men prepare to execute the boys, but simply laugh as they walk away instead of executing them. The ending is ambiguous: The men either actually spared the boys, or they could be walking into the afterlife.

Âgé de douze ans, Jirka, un orphelin passe son enfance à la campagne chez son grand-père qui sous sa rudesse apparente, aime profondément son petit-fils. Celui-ci passe beaucoup de son temps dans la nature luxuriante au milieu de laquelle ils habitent. Dans la rivière, la Přivoznik, à l'eau limpide qui coule non loin de leur maisonnette, Jirka trompe sa solitude en pêchant et en observant les poissons et surtout un qu'il appelle en cognant une pierre sur un rocher pour lui donner à manger avec la main. Mais ce dernier est menacé par un énorme brochet qu'il décide de capturer. Tout d'abord ses camarades du village se moquent de lui car ce n'est pas simple; il va casser sa ligne, se fâcher avec son grand-père, se réfugier chez son oncle qui est bûcheron dans une forêt voisine. Mais le moment venu, son grand-père va lui prêter une autre ligne pour capturer le gros prédateur et ses camarades seront là pour l'aider.
