Shyama was an Indian actress of Malayalam movies. She was one of the prominent lead and supporting actress of Malayalam and Tamil movies during 1990s. She came into movie industry as a child artist and later started doing lead roles and supporting roles. She hails from Alappuzha. She was married to Raghuram.

She died of gas cylinder explosion at her home in 1993. She was a distant relative of Parvathy Jayaram.

Ravi Varma(Sreenivasan), Kesava Pillai(M.G Soman), Prabhakara Varma(Karamana Janardhanan Nair) and Rajaraja Varma(Maniyanpilla Raju) seek methods to kill King Udaya Varma Thampuran(Nedumudi Venu) to amass his wealth. Udaya Varma's wife Bhagirathi Thampuratti(Kaviyoor Ponnamma) has fallen into depression after the untimely death of their son Unni. She is locked up at home and looked after by Udaya Varma's daughter Radha(Gautami). Ravi Varma and group fears that Udaya Varma might will his wealth to Radha, being his daughter, who is believed to be born of Thampuran's illicit relationship with his maid. The group is helped by Cheriyachan Thampuran(Thikkurissy), a blind cousin of Thampuran, who also eyes at King's wealth. He advises the Group on the plans to eliminate the King upon condition of sharing the wealth with him. As per his advice Ravi Varma travels to Mumbai in search of a killer. There he meets Jamal(Mammukoya) who helps him.

Bhaskaran(Sreenivasan), the local village goldsmith is in love with Snehalatha(Urvashi), the daughter of P.V.Panicker(Innocent), the local astrologer. They are neighbors. Radha (Sridevi) is a notorious prankster creating a variety of mischiefs along with her gang, which often end up in the village court. Masterji (Rajesh Khanna) enters the village with his infant child to take up the vacant teacher post in the local school, but isn't spared from Radha's pranks upon his arrival. He takes up the job with one hand holding the book, and the other rocking the cradle in the classroom much to the amusement of local folk in the village. Radha's playful nature transforms into love when she learns that he's a widower. She tries many ways to win the teacher's heart, but fails every time. The teacher believes that a stepmother would not take care of his child, and thus even rejects the offer to marry his dead wife's sister. As a last hope to attain him, Radha blames the teacher for molesting her and even swears on it by crossing over his child in front of the village court. Petrified, and with the whole village surrounded, he is left with very little option than to marry her. But vows never to touch her and remain in celibacy. But Radha doesn't give. She relentlessly tries to seduce him by unconventional methods that prove to be testing times for the teacher. With the chances of winning him slowly decreasing, Radha comes to a conclusion once and for all.

Kamini (Peace Kanwal) and Asha (Shyama) are two sisters living with their wealthy father, Seth Hirachand (Diwan Sharar). Mohan (Talat Mehmood), is striving to become a musician, but is hindered by his father who is a petition-writer. Mohan leaves home and meets up with Kamini and her father. Seth Hirachand helps Mohan to make a name for himself as a music director. Kamini and Mohan fall in love, but Asha lets Kamini know that she loves Mohan. Having spoilt Asha, as an older sister Kamini gets Asha and Mohan married. However things don't work out between the two. Asha is disturbed by Mohan's music and finds it boring. She finds out about Kamini and Mohan's affair and consumed with rage a pregnant Asha runs after Mohan but trips down the stairs. Badly injured, she gives birth and dies handing the baby to Kamini. After a few years, Kamini and Mohan are brought together by Mohan's son, who insists on calling Kamini, mother.
