Stephen Norrington is a British film director whose credits include Death Machine and the comic book adaptations Blade and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
En 1995, il écrit, produit et réalise son premier long-métrage, Death Machine, un film de science-fiction à petit budget. Trois ans plus tard, il est chargé de réaliser l'adaptation de la bande dessinée Blade, une superproduction dans laquelle Wesley Snipes incarne un chasseur de vampires.
Après un nouveau détour vers le cinéma indépendant avec The Last Minute en 2001, il revient à Hollywood en 2003 où il réalise La Ligue des gentlemen extraordinaires, autre adaptation d'une bande dessinée, qui met en scène des personnages de la littérature fantastique du XIX siècle .
Il n'abandonne pas pour autant les effets spéciaux : il prend en charge ceux de L'Exorciste, au commencement en 2004 et du film d'horreur Feast en 2006. Il a été également pressenti pour réaliser l'adaptation au cinéma de l'anime Akira.

Il s'est fait connaître par la création des effets spéciaux de nombreux films, dont Aliens le retour en 1986 et Alien³ en 1991 avant de se consacrer à la mise en scène de clips.En 1995, il écrit, produit et réalise son premier long-métrage, Death Machine, un film de science-fiction à petit budget. Trois ans plus tard, il est chargé de réaliser l'adaptation de la bande dessinée Blade, une superproduction dans laquelle Wesley Snipes incarne un chasseur de vampires.

In October 1899, six months after returning home from the Land of Oz, Dorothy Gale has become melancholic. Her Aunt Em and Uncle Henry take her to Dr. Worley, known for his electrotherapy treatments, and leave her under the care of Nurse Wilson. During a thunderstorm, the lab suffers a blackout and Dorothy is saved by a mysterious girl. They escape with Nurse Wilson in pursuit, and fall into a river. Dorothy clambers aboard a chicken coop, but the other girl appears to have vanished underwater.

In 1899, men dressed as German soldiers, using a large armored vehicle and wielding machine guns, attacked the Bank of England and stole Leonardo da Vinci’s layouts of Venice’s foundations. Shortly after, led by their leader the “Fantom”, men dressed as British officers, again using highly advanced technology for the time, kidnapped German scientists and destroyed a factory, causing tension between the United Kingdom and Germany, which could lead to an international war. Sanderson Reed (Tom Goodman-Hill) of the British Empire ventures to Kenya, visiting a Gentleman's club to recruit world-renowned hunter and adventurer Allan Quatermain (Sean Connery). Quatermain, retired and mourning the loss of his son after his last adventure, has no interest in serving the British Empire further. After armed men attempt to assassinate Quatermain, he is left with no-other choice but to agree to go with Reed to London and meet with Reed's superior officer to help keep the threat of a war from spilling into Africa.
