Biography
Vittorio De Sisti débute comme réalisateur en 1968 avec la comédie Scusi, lei conosce il sesso?. Il réalise au cours des années 1970 plusieurs comédies à l'italienne dont certaines dérivent vers la simple comédie érotique à l'italienne. Le déclin de ce genre l'amène à se diversifier et à se tourner vers la télévision. Il réalise notamment plusieurs séries télévisées comiques et policières au cours des années 1990 et 2000 pour la Rai et Italia 1.Best films

A pair of working class lovers - a secretary and an accountant - scheme to marry into the rich landed gentry. Vittorio Borghi, journaliste marqué à gauche, traverse une crise intérieure, à la fois politique et sentimentale. Il est amoureux d'une adolescente, Elena, et en rupture définitive avec son épouse, Milena. Il éprouve le besoin d'opérer un retour vers sa ville d'origine : Mantoue. Là, il revoit des amis de son père, des compagnons d'école ou des camarades liés au milieu de la Résistance avec lesquels il partagea autrefois les durs combats d'après-guerre. L'évocation des souvenirs du passé semble raviver les passions et les émotions de la jeunesse. En réalité, l'impression est plutôt fragile : Vittorio s'aperçoit, qu'autour de lui, tout a désormais changé. Les hommes et les situations ne sont plus les mêmes. De son côté, l'idéal auquel il se raccrochait s'est effrité, cédant la place à la désillusion et l'amertume. Entre ses anciens amis et lui-même, la reconnaissance mutuelle n'est maintenant qu'une survivance liée à l'Histoire. Tout s'achève, avant tout, sur l'image d'une salle de danse dans laquelle des adolescents, heureux et insouciants, se laissent entraîner, au son d'un juke-box, sur des airs à la mode. Jeunes hommes et jeunes femmes, très éloignés en tout cas, des aspirations qui furent celles de Vittorio, à cet âge-là.

Dante Fontana is an antique dealer of Perugia, and is infatuated with British culture. But he is always thwarted by his wife and relatives, who see him as a silly dreamer who gets lost in stories rather than doing serious work. But Dante does not lose hope, and plans a vacation to London to learn more about the habits of the British so much that make him mad. However, Dante is hard to settle in, and often makes typical Italian blunders, gaining the scorn of the highly educated and refined British public. After taking part in a fox hunt, Dante is invited by a rich English nobleman who shows him an ancient Etruscan statuette. Dante says that the object is a fake and shatters it. Then chased away by gunfire, Dante takes refuge with a group of young flower children and with them, takes part in a riot. Arrested, Dante is sent back to Italy where he resumes his monotonous work.

NATO Officer Andrea Rossi-Colombotti (Mastroianni) is a ladies man with an unusual libido: he can only seduce women in situations where his life is in danger. The film begins with him breaking into a Corsican girlfriends house; the girl, armed and voluptuous, believes Andrea a criminal and nearly shoots him before being seduced, but she later ends their relationship in the light of such an incident. Later, while spending an afternoon with an Asian air stewardess, he tries to achieve arousal by making up a situation about a dying relative, but the stewardess learns the sham and the liaison ends disastrously.
