Dream (Telugu: డ్రీమ్ ) is a 2012 Telugu, psychological thriller film directed by Bhavani Shankar K under the banner of Kaipa Film Production House and produced by Satish Mynam and Vijaya Mynam. The film features Rajendra Prasad, Pavani Reddy and Jayashree in the lead roles. Dream is scripted and directed by Bhavani Shankar K and is his first feature film as director. The film won Royal Reel Award at the Canada International Film Festival and has also garnered selection at the New York City International Film Festival.

Synopsis

The story runs around a retired Army officer who did not get to fight the Kargil war. He now lives with his wife in an upscale, gated community spending most of his time playing war video games. The hero suffers from hypnagogia, a rare medical disorder. He starts dreaming and believes that his dreams are real.

Raghu Ramayya (Rajendra Prasad) is a kind hearted idealistic person who spends half of his income on charity work. His wife Bharati (Aamani), two sons Chinna and Raja and daughter Revathi are quite against this attitude. His children compel him to get money for their career (bribe for job), education (donation fee for engineering seat) and settling in United States which he feels is completely wrong. He is forced to set aside his morality and take a loan from his neighbor, Kotayya (Kota Srinivasa Rao). Unable to bear the defeat of his ideology and moral issues, he dies naturally due to a heart attack the very day he gives money to his children. The rest of the film is about how his children and wife realise just how important he was as they prepare his funeral. At last, every one had realised that after death only love and affection will come with us so love the people and society.

Raj Kumar or Raj (Chiranjeevi) is a rich audio company owner who owns a modern dance school. Dance is his passion and his life till he meets and marries Shanti (Simran). Will the girl ever get her eye operation and how Rajendra Prasad stops the villains forms the rest of the story.
