The film stars Vimal, Sanusha in the lead roles, whilst Jayaprakash, Singampuli, Mayilsamy and Manobala in supporting roles, with music composed by Taj Noor. A remake of the 2010 Telugu film Kalavar King, directed by Suresh himself, the film was released on 27 May 2011, with moderate review.

Synopsis
Sathyamurthy alias Sathya (Vimal) is the son of a school teacher (Jayaprakash) in Kumbakonam. Sathya is a happy-go-lucky youngster, who yearns to do business. To achieve his 'mission', he borrows money from all quarters and is almost drowned in debts. Even as his father advices him to start leading life in a right manner, enters Selvi (Sanusha), a student.Actors

The story unfolds in a dry barren village. Anbukkarasu (Kishore), the protagonist who wants to excel in his life as a Collector and is an encouraging child, comes across Jeevanandam (Sree Raam), the son of the school teacher Chokkalingam(JayaPrakash), on the first day of school. Jeeva develops instant dislike for Anbu. The good-hearted Anbu tries to befriend Jeeva. However, Jeeva continues to hate Anbu with a passion. Enter Manonmani (Dharini), Jeeva's cousin, who develops affinity towards Anbu. This only makes Jeeva detest Anbu further. Not only Anbu excels in academics but also in extracurricular activities, contributes to widening the rift between the two.Anbu's parents have diiferent opinions at Life which develops fight between them and also turns out to be a positive for Jeeva to hurt Anbu further.

The story is centered in a village where the parents of first cousins Sujatha (Sadha) and Raghu (Gopichand) decide that they will be married to each other when they become adults. As a child, Sujatha's uncle gives her anklets, which she wears as she grows up. As they grow older, Raghu is caught smuggling money from his house. The film starts with an outsider coming to the village to provide invitations to the people there. There is a police station with one sub-inspector (Bagavathi Perumal) and 3 constables. The village is apparently winning the award from President for being a model village. People are very honest, hard working and there are not problems in the village. The Policemen lead a very peaceful life because of the villagers. They work from 9 to 5 and are closed on sundays. The police station is used for playing board games and watching tv along with the villagers. Constable Shanmugha Pandi (Arulnithi) is a day dreamer and has a liking to a school teacher (Remya Nambeesan).

Raja (Sharwanand) is a simple yet well off son of a vegetable vendor. He constantly keeps breaking-up with girlfriends because of his honesty. Then he meets Priya (Seerat) and they both fall in love. While this is happening with Raja, there are kidnappings of ministers in the city, in the same way it happened a couple of years ago. The person who solved the mystery years ago, police commissioner Dileep (Sampath Raj), has an officer under him, Nayeem Basha (Adivi sesh), who is a very smart officer but is not appreciated for it. Soon Raja learns that Priya is none other than Dileep's daughter and that she is about to marry a minister's son. Raja goes and talks with Dileep who reveals that he wants to get Priya married to the minister's son. He tricks Raja into kidnapping one of the big shots in city. But Raja instead kidnaps Priya, who tells him that she never loved him and only pretended so she could go for higher studies in a foreign land.
