The Traitor is a 1957 British drama film directed by Michael McCarthy and starring Donald Wolfit, Robert Bray, Christopher Lee and Karel Stepanek. A former resistance fighters tries to discover the traitor who has betrayed his colleagues in the German resistance during the Second World War. The film was also shown in the US with the title "The Accused." It was not released in the US until 1960.

A middle-aged woman recognizes her fellow train passenger, mystery writer Larry Gordon, from a photograph. Suddenly they hear a scream. The train door has been opened and snow gets in. In May 1940, as the German invasion of the Netherlands is under way, the British government decides to send a team to the Netherlands on board HMS Walpole to secure stocks of industrial diamonds before the invaders can get to them. Captain Scott is given the men, but not the funds, to go on a second expedition to the Antarctic. As his wife works on a bust of him, she tells him that she's "not the least jealous" that he's going to the Antarctic again. The wife of a Dr. E. A. Wilson whom Scott hopes to recruit has a very different opinion from Scott's wife, but Wilson agrees to go. Scott also visits Fridtjof Nansen, who insists that a polar expedition must use only dogs, not machines or horses. Scott goes on a fundraising campaign, and despite popular scepticism, manages to raise enough money to fund the expedition.
