Grace Darmond (November 20, 1893 – October 8, 1963) was a Canadian-born American actress from the early 20th century.
Elle débute au cinéma en 1914 à la Selig Polyscope Company. Elle obtient rapidement ses premiers rôles mais la plupart du temps dans des productions mineures.
En 1916, elle est cependant en tête d'affiche dans une série, The Shielding Shadow, de 15 épisodes de deux bobines réalisés par Louis J. Gasnier et Donald MacKenzie.
En 1917, elle tourne aux côtés de Niles Welch dans le premier film en Technicolor, The Gulf Between. Il s'agit du procédé Technicolor bichrome à synthèse additive, système peu convaincant qui sera un échec et le seul film tourné avec ce procédé.
En 1918, elle rencontre Jean Acker avec qui elle noue une relation et est mêlée au scandale entourant le mariage éclair de cette dernière avec Rudolph Valentino. Elle fera partie du cercle d'amies entourant la sulfureuse actrice Alla Nazimova et à ce titre son comportement choque l'Amérique puritaine.
Sa prestation en 1920 dans Below the Surface aux côtés de Hobart Bosworth et Lloyd Hughes lui vaut de donner la réplique en 1921 à Boris Karloff dans The Hope Diamond Mystery et d'entrer à la Warner Bros. naissante en 1922 avec la vedette dans A Dangerous Adventure de Jack L. Warner une autre série de films en 15 épisodes.

William Tudor has a huge debt and is forced to give up his family castle. He sells it to war millionaire John Kershaw and goes to London to visit his granddaughter Irene. Meanwhile, Tudor's nephew and Irene's sweetheart Owen travels to South Africa to oversee his father's mines. Irene becomes a chorus girl at the Gaiety Theatre. Here, John's son Christopher Kershaw falls in love with her. She doesn't want to have anything to do with him, but becomes desperate after her father gets ill. She gets the message Owen has been killed in the war and agrees to marry Christopher. Right after the marriage, an alive Owen shows up at the castle. Meanwhile, a huge chandelier crashes down on Christopher's head. He is now killed, which makes Irene and Owen able to reunite. Owen buys the castle back from John and Irene's grandfather comes back to his home.

Based upon a description in a film magazine, Martin Flint (Bosworth) and his son Luther (Hughes) are partners in a deep sea diving business, and a promoter tries to interest them in a fraudulent scheme to extract treasure from a sunken wreck. The father declines, but the son accepts, attracted by a young woman with the promoter, whom Luther then marries. She later leaves him, and Luther becomes delirious, so the father goes to an underworld dive in an attempt to get her back. Later, a steamer sinks after a collision with a derelict, carrying the promoter and Luther's wife to their deaths. Luther refuses to accept his father's story that the woman was worthless, and dives on the sunken steamer only to discover his wife embraced in the arms of her lover.

As described in a film magazine, Gloria Graham (Darmond), a young woman employed at an office for a small salary, believes that the capacity of a business woman for success depends upon dressing well. After she goes into debt, she is about to be rescued by marriage to the man she loves, Philip Belden (Stanley), but World War I breaks out and he enlists. Shen then falls for a snare set by her employer Horace Lennon (Lucas), who sends her to a clothing shop with a card allowing her to buy what she wants and to charge it to his account. After news arrives that her lover is missing in action, she marries her employer to allow her to indulge in her love of luxury. Her soldier lover, released from a German prisoner-of-war camp, returns and discovers that Gloria is married. He happens to be in the vicinity of her husband's house when the husband is accidentally shot by the maid. Gloria is suspected of killing her husband and arrested, but the truth is revealed by the end of the film.

As described in a film magazine, little Marie Farrell (Axzelle), through the carelessness of her nurse, is lost and believed drowned. She has wandered upon the ship of the smuggler Captain Flagg (Brandt), who finds her and brings her up as his own. Her parents adopt a boy to help them forget their grief. The girl grows up with no memory of her former life. The adopted boy moves in the smart set in Mayport, and his parents try to make a match between him and a society girl. Marie (Darmond) is brought to her adopted father's sister, as the old caption believes she should have the care of a loving woman. She meets young Richard Farrell (Welch), and the two love each other. The Ferrells do everything they can to breakup the couple, but with the help of the caption the marriage is accomplished. There is a stormy meeting between the bridal pair and the parents, during which the caption sees a portrait of Marie as a baby and, realizing the truth, tells the story of her life. The family is reunited and Mary and Richard spend their honeymoon on the captain's ship.
