Peter Alexander Ferdinand Maximilian Neumayer (30 June 1926 – 12 February 2011), commonly known as Peter Alexander, was an Austrian actor, singer and entertainer. His fame emerged in the 1950s and 1960s through popular film comedies and successful recordings, predominantly of Schlager and operetta repertory. Later, Alexander established himself as the acclaimed host of television shows. His career as a live singer touring the German language countries lasted until 1991, while he continued his television work until 1996.

Dr. Peter Bach, a young and excellent teacher, has been mistakenly diverted to the village of Tuttelbach, where he teaches at the local elementary school. When the head of the Education Ministry, von Schnorr, attempts to correct that mistake, he finds Dr. Bach unwilling to leave since he has come to enjoy the easy and picturesque village life. However, in the end Bach is left with no other choice when von Schnorr accidentally drops his burning cigar into the school room's waste basket, where it quickly starts a fire that burns the school to the ground.

Ulrich Hansen travaille pour avoir un doctorat ; mais en attendant, il fait de son passe-temps un métier et devient chanteur. Aussi, quand Anne Marie, la jolie belle-fille de Mme Stolzinger, vient travailler après avoir fait l'école hôtelière, tous les sentiments sont bouleversés et une fin heureuse s'éloigne. Une excursion de Heinz et Annemarie sur le Grossglockner va rendre clairs les sentiments qu'ils éprouvent l'un pour l'autre.
