Synopsis
Malko Linge est non seulement prince d'Autriche mais en même temps agent de la CIA. Lors d'une soirée organisée dans son château, le prince et ses invités sont attaqués par un groupe d'hommes armés dirigés par Nassiri, qui semble avoir une dent contre le prince. Le château est sérieusement endommagé par Nassiri et ses hommes mais Malko en sort indemne. Dans le but de découvrir l'identité du chef des assaillants, les recherches de Malko le mèneront à la rencontre de Sharnilar Kassani, une veuve qui a été rendue borgne par Nassiri sous le commandement de Kharoun. Tous deux s'allieront pour se venger contre Kharoun.Actors

During the 1999 Russian Presidential elections, the two leading candidates are Igor Komarov (Patrick Bergin), a former Colonel of the KGB, and a retired General Nikolai Nikolayev (Joss Ackland). An investigation by the FSB ensues when a car bomb explodes outside one of Komarov’s pharmaceutical companies, and a virus is stolen from inside. Heading the investigation FSB agents Sonia Astrova (Annika Peterson) and her colleague Andrei Kasanov (Niko Nicotera). They come up against difficulty by the director of the FSB, Anatoly Grishin (Ben Cross).

Coming to the assistance of a nanny who is almost killed during a bungled hit-and-run assassination attempt, Richard Hannay (More) is surprised to find that there is no baby in her pram. Curious, he meets her at the Palace Music Hall where she has gone to see the act of Mr Memory (James Hayter). Afterwards, she goes back to Hannay's flat with him, where she reveals that she is a spy working for British Intelligence following a group called "The Thirty-Nine Steps"; all they know about their elusive leader is that he is missing the tip of a finger. The Thirty-Nine Steps are in possession of a set of top-secret plans for "Boomerang", a British ballistic missile project that could tip the balance of power in Europe. She tells Hannay that she must leave for Scotland immediately, but while Hannay is out of the room, she is killed by two hitmen.

James Bond is driving from Lake Garda to Siena, Italy, with the captured Mr. White in the boot of his car. After evading pursuers, Bond and M interrogate White regarding his organization, Quantum. The film opens with a ski chalet party sequence in Gstaad where Hubert Bonisseur de La Bath aka OSS 117 is entertaining a Chinese countess.
