Millionaire Playboy is a 1940 American comedy film directed by Leslie Goodwins from a screenplay by Bert Granet and Charles E. Roberts, based upon Granet's story. Produced and distributed by RKO Radio Pictures, it was released on March 15, 1940, and stars Joe Penner, Linda Hayes, and Russ Brown. This was Joe Penner last movie before he died in 1941.

Synopsis

Joe Zany (Joe Penner) a hapless young socialite attempts to overcome an embarrassing romantic problem. It seems every time he kisses a girl, he gets a horrible case of hiccups. Anxious to cure him, his father spends a small fortune to take his son to a special headshrinker who in turn sends Joe to a beautiful spa, owned by Lois Marlowe (Linda Hayes}, filled with gorgeous young women.

Ellory Bugs has offered a huge donation to his old alma mater, Taylor Tech, which is to be paid only if his son, Jimmie "Doodle" Bugs, becomes a football hero. But "Doodle" tips the scales at 143 pounds and is more interested in the band than the football team. Three young men from completely different levels of society get their draft notices the same day. Jerry Miles works as an MC on a nightclub, Mike Strager drives a truck for a living and Bob Prescott is the heir of an wealthy family. The three men all report for military duty, and are measured to get uniforms as well as tested for aptitude. Bob scores somewhat higher than the other two and is assigned to be in charge of the men during the bus drive to boot camp. Tim Kelly (James Ellison) is a Texan in the oil business who travels to Argentina to bid for some land. When his bid is unsuccessful, he teams up with colleague Duke Ferrell (Buddy Ebsen) to buy their employer a successful racehorse, Lucero, in the hope that this will compensate for the failed bid.
