Turquoise (Turkish: Turkuaze; Dutch: Turquaze) is a 2009 Belgian-Turkish drama film written and directed by Kadir Balcı about the identity crisis experienced by three Turkish brothers who return to the Belgian city of Ghent after they bury their father in Istanbul. The film, which went on nationwide release across Belgium on 29 September 2010 (2010-09-29), was selected for the 16th London Turkish Film Festival.

Synopsis

Après avoir enterré leur père à Istanbul, Timur et ses deux frères rentrent en Belgique. Tandis que l’aîné se réfugie dans la tradition et que le plus jeune s’engage sur une mauvaise pente, Timur décide d’intégrer une fanfare. Mais un Turc dans une fanfare flamande, cela est-il possible ? Une chronique familiale qui nous parle avec justesse et sincérité des difficultés de l’intégration pour une génération déracinée.

The film tells the story of Jenny, a British teenager, who has left home for the first time and is going to college in Paris in the early 1960s. Soon she is smitten by a local Parisian.
