Dans un royaume imaginaire et corrompu gouverné par la cruelle Katharina, celle-ci afin de renflouer les caisses de l'état manœuvre pour faire marier sa fille Emily avec Meinrad von Bock, un attardé mental. Katharina entretient aussi une relation sado-masochiste avec l’évêque. Emily est amoureuse de Josef, un palefrenier et ne veut pas entendre parler de ce mariage. Elle s'enfuit du château avec l'aide de Trizi, sa servante. Les deux femmes trouvent refuge dans un bordel. Pendant ce temps, Josef a été capturé par Katharina qui lui fait crever les yeux. L'évêque étant client du bordel, il finit par y découvrir la présence des deux jeunes femmes, des coups de feu sont tirés et la tenancière est tuée. Les prostituées se retrouvent à la rue et décident de devenir des bandits de grand chemins (les Filles brigandes) en recrutant d'autres femmes. Emily et Trizi finissent par être capturées, on coupe la langue de Trizi et on force Emily à se marier. Mais en pleine cérémonie, les Filles brigandes interviennent et font un massacre délivrant ainsi le royaume de la tyrannie.

Norbit Albert Rice (Eddie Murphy) and Kate Thomas (Thandie Newton) are best friends as children at a combination Chinese restaurant and orphanage owned by their father figure, Mr. Wong (Eddie Murphy), but are separated when Kate gets adopted. While being bullied by twins on a playground one day, Norbit is saved by a tough, overweight girl named Rasputia Latimore (Eddie Murphy) who scares him into being her boyfriend. Though at first she genuinely likes Norbit and cares about him, going as far as intimidating other kids into letting Norbit play with them – Rasputia's kindness deteriorates as she grows up to be an ignorant, arrogant, vindictive, and mean-spirited woman. She eventually pressures Norbit into marrying her, and bullies, insults, and controls him to make sure that she keeps him all to herself. Norbit is also belittled by Rasputia's older brothers, Big Black Jack (Terry Crews), Blue (Lester 'Rasta' Speight), and Earl (Clifton Powell), working as a bookkeeper at their local construction company. The Latimore brothers also run a "security business" and instill fear in everyone in the town except Mr. Wong, who refuses to sell his establishment to them.

Kanmani dresses up as a boy by the name of Velayuthan Kutty and soon starts working with Manikandan and Premachandran. Balan Master starts liking the disguised boy. One day, Premachandran tells Kanmani that he has planned to rescue her by sending her to Tamil Nadu to work in a banian company where Premachandran's friend is working. Kanmani refueses to go. Premachandran accidentally confesses to Manikandan that Velayuthan Kutty is actually the missing Kanmani. Manikandan has no peace and shouts out the truth in the middle of the night. Two policemen, accidentally hear this and take Premachandran and Kanmani into custody.
