Bruno Cortini, né le 13 décembre 1943 à Rome dans la région du Latium et décédé le 29 octobre 1989 dans la même ville, est un réalisateur et scénariste italien.

Assistant réalisateur et scénariste à ses débuts, il passe à la réalisation en 1983 avec la comédie Sapore di mare 2 - Un anno dopo, la suite de la comédie Sapore di mare de Carlo Vanzina. Il signe ensuite deux comédies pour adolescents, Giochi d'estate en 1984 et L'estate sta finendo en 1987, avant de décéder prématurément des suites d'une maladie en 1989 à l'âge de quarante-cinq ans.

Biography

Il débute comme assistant-réalisateur dans les années 1970 et travaille avec Giorgio Stegani, Francesco Rosi, Massimo Dallamano, George Roy Hill, Alberto Lattuada ou Carlo Vanzina, principalement sur des comédies et des films policiers. Il écrit également quelques scénarios pour le cinéma.

En 1983, il passe seul à la réalisation avec la comédie Sapore di mare 2 - Un anno dopo, la suite de la comédie Sapore di mare de Carlo Vanzina sur laquelle il avait travaillé l'année précédente. Il signe ensuite deux comédies pour adolescents, Giochi d'estate en 1984 et L'estate sta finendo en 1987.

En 1988, il écrit et réalise la série télévisée Colletti bianchi qui raconte l'histoire d'un groupe d'employés d'une société milanaise dans les années 1980 et évoque par ce prisme diverses questions sociales, familiales, sentimentales et politiques.

Il décède prématurément l'année suivante des suites d'une maladie à l'âge de quarante-cinq ans.

The film is set in the Sixties, in the Tuscan beach of Forte dei Marmi. A group of young friends spends his holidays at sea. One of them has a girlfriend, but she loves another, while a peasant has a beautiful American girl, but prefers another woman. Finally, a shy student falls in love with an older woman. At the end of the film the same friends join together in the beach; however, they are sad because there are now the Eighties, and everything is different in their life.

The film starts with the murder of District Attorney Vargas in Palermo, amongst a climate of demonstrations, strikes and political tension between the Left and the government. The subsequent investigation failing, the police assign the protagonist Inspector Rogas (Lino Ventura) to solve the case. While he is starting his investigation, two judges are killed. All victims turn out to have worked together on several cases. After Rogas discovers evidence of corruption surrounding the three government officials, he is encouraged by superiors "not to forage after gossip," but to trail the "crazy lunatic who for no reason whatever is going about murdering judges." This near admission of guilt drives Rogas to seek out three men wrongfully convicted by the murdered judges. He is joined by a journalist friend working for a far-left newspaper, Cusan.
