Krish is an Indian actor and singer, who has worked on Tamil and Telugu language films. After beginning his career as a playback singer, he has subsequently also appeared in films as an actor.

Biography

Krish married actress Sangeetha at a private ceremony at Annamalaiyar Temple in Tiruvannamalai on 1 February 2009. The pair's daughter was born in December 2012.

Ashwin Kumar (Jiiva) is a photojournalist working for the private newspaper Dina Anjal. He witnesses Naxalites robbing a local bank. He chases them and manages to click photos of the robbers. When he tries to escape, he is stopped by a young woman Renuka 'renu' (Karthika Nair) who assumes he is the culprit and helps the robbers to take his camera. However, he is able to secure the memory card of the camera. The police catch him, and to prove that he is a press photographer, he shows the photos to the them, who identify everyone except the gang leader (whose face is covered by a mask). At his office, he again meets Renuka, who has newly joined as Article Editor. Saraswathi 'saro' (Piaa Bajpai) also works in his office and has feelings for Ashwin, who does not reciprocate.

Venkat Ramakrishnan (Srikanth), Sevarkodi Senthil (Jiiva) and Panchavan Parivendan aka Pari (Vijay) are three first year engineering students who share a room in the hostel of Ideal Engineering College (IEC), Chennai. Venkat studies engineering to pursue his father's wishes over his own wish – to become a wildlife photographer, while Senthil studies engineering to get his family out of poverty. Pari, on the other hand, studies engineering for his simple passion for machines and devices. He believes that one should follow excellence, not success, as success will take care of itself if excellence is followed. However, this approach to studies is sneered upon by the dean of the college, Professor Virumandi "Virus" Santhanam (Sathyaraj). Virus and the faculty favour Pari's classmate, an NRI student Srivatsan aka "Silencer" (Sathyan), who believes in mindless rote learning over understanding to reach his goals of corporate status. Pari constantly spars with Virus and Silencer due to their differences in their educational approaches.

Gautham Subramaniam (Jayam Ravi) is a doctor from an Indian family who lives in Chennai. Since his father (Nizhagal Ravi) and mother are doctors, he wanted to become a doctor. Gautham gets an opportunity from the Government of India to go to Russia to represent India in a week long medical conference, along with five other young doctors. Gautham is delighted to receive this offer and packs his bags to fly to Russia. Meanwhile, his beloved is introduced on the frame which happens to be Shenba (Kangana Ranaut). She happens to be the same village girl in which Gautham's sister Sarasu, (Anu Haasan) resides with her husband (Chetan) and so they two meet and fall in love. The film opens with two people – a man (Aravind Akash) and a woman – interviewing civilians' thoughts on love and the opposite sex. Rani (Bidushi Dash Barde), the daughter of former Chennai police officer Arokiya Raj (Prakash Raj), tells her father over the phone that she will back home in 20 minutes. As she leaves the telephone booth, she is approached by someone. The screen then cuts to black and we find out that Rani does not come home. The following morning Arokiya Raj finds a finger hanging at his door. Police reports confirm that it is his daughter Rani's finger. He calls Raghavan (Kamal Hassan), his old friend, for investigation. Raghavan handles the case and they eventually find the body of Rani in a forest in the city outskirts. The doctor's report states that the killer bisected Rani’s body with a surgical knife, proving that the murderer has a strong medical background. Following the trauma of losing their only daughter, Arokiya Raj and his wife move to New York.

Murugan (Bharath) is a diligent scooter mechanic in Madurai and life goes on smoothly for the young man until a rich student Aishwarya (Sandhya) sets eyes on him. The infatuation reaches a dangerous level when she coaxes Murugan to take her from the constraint of her family, who have other plans about her future. The naïve Murugan hesitantly yields to her charm and the two run away to Chennai. Murugan's friend Stephen (Sukumar) helps them in their hour of crisis and the lovers unite in marriage. But Sandhya's family dotes on her and is not going to give up so easily. The family tracks down the couple and eventually separates them after knowing that Murugan is a low caste. Aishwarya agrees to marry another man to save Murugan's life after he is being beaten by her father. While she believes this decision is best and moves on with her life, she one day (while on the road with her husband and daughter) runs into Murugan who has suffered permanent brain damage. Knowing that she made a mistake and not knowing how to undo the sins of her father, the movie ends with Aishwarya and her husband deciding to take care of Murugan.
