Ramesh Deo (born 30 Jan 1929) is an Indian film and television actor who has worked in more than 285 Hindi Films, 190 Marathi Films, 30 Marathi Dramas with over 200 shows in his long career. He has also produced Feature Films, Television Serials and over 250 Ad Films. He has also directed number of Films, Documentaries and Television Serials. He has been felicitated with many State and National Awards for his work.

Chandan Singh is a dacoit living with in isolation with his followers Bhairav Singh, Mangal Singh and his wife Parvati amongst others. The police, led by Inspector Ajit Singh are fast on the track of Chandan Singh, and soon catch up with him. Chandan Singh is betrayed by his follower Bhairav Singh, who is killed by Chandan Singh, after he attempts molest Parvati. Mangal Singh shields and protects the son of Bhairav, Chaman, and both swear vengeance against Chandan Singh. Meanwhile, while escaping from the police in a boat, Ajit Singh shoots at Chandan Singh and the shot hits Parvati, who falls into the water, and her son, Suraj plunges in after her. Chandan Singh too dives in after them, but is unable to find them. Chandan Singh takes revenge on Ajit Singh's family and abducts his daughter, Radha, and Ajit's wife, Asha is killed accidentally. Years later Chandan Singh emerges as Dharma as well as Nawab Sikander, while Ajit Singh is now the Insepctor General of Police. Nawab Sikander goes to the prostitutions area and there finds Radha, who he recognizes and buys from the Madame, and brings her home, and asks Ajit Singh to be her father, to which he readily agrees as she looks just like his wife, Asha. Rajoo is a small time crook who works with Dharma, but has a change of heart when he falls in love with Radha, and swears to be a good person and through the guiding hands of his to-be father-in-law becomes a police inspector, and vows to arrest Chandan Singh. In the meantime, Mangal Singh, Chaman, and Chaman's girlfriend come upon Parvati, who lives in a temple. Chaman decides to impersonate himself as her son Suraj, and after successfully doing this he also manages to fool Dharma into believing that he is indeed their long lost son, vouched for by Mangal Singh.

Kedarnath Bhargav, his wife, Laxmi, and two sons, Ram and Lakshman, are homeless. While traveling, their train derails, and the family is separated into three groups. Laxmi works as a maidservant in the house of Bombay's mayor and his daughter, Rekha. Ram is abducted by a career criminal. Kedarnath and Lakshman are together. Ratanlal Verma, a kind-hearted man with a son named Prakash, comes to Lakshman's rescue, is run over by a truck and crippled. Kalpana (Nanda) is a daughter of a rich man who always worries that his daughter might fall in love. Hence he always controls her not to talk with men. But Kalpana does not care about it. She leaves for her uncle's house to continue her studies. In the city Kalpana visits an art gallery and gets attracted by a painting of an artist named Rajesh (Rajesh Khanna). She gets angry when a photographer tries to get sketch without her consent. Meanwhile an aspiring artist who works for an assignment for ad of the company where Kalpana's uncle work. Due to the deadline pressure he sketches Kalpana for the ad without her knowledge as he was not satisfied with the models he saw. The next day Kalpana's picture get published in newspaper and Kalpana gets angry on that. She finds that the sketch was portrayed by artist Rajesh and her anger goes away. Both of them become good friends and then eventually fall in love. Kalpana's father comes to know about this and he lies to her that Kalpana's mother is ill. Kalpana rushes to home but to find it was her father's lie as he does not want his daughter to be away anymore. He arranges for Kalpana's marriage with a son of rich man who looks like an elephant. Kalpana runs away to Rajesh and insists to marry her. Rajesh initially refuse as his financial background is not stable but finally agree on Kalpana's compulsion. Both marry and settle with their life.

Two battle hardened brothers, one in the Royal Indian Air Force (RIAF) and the other in the Royal Indian Army get ready to face and fight the stubborn Japanese invaders in Burma during World War II while falling in love with the same girl (Mala Sinha). India is in a state of war with Japan and former Colonel Kapoor's sons, Rajan and Ram are both with the Indian Armed Forces. While Rajan is a Wing Commander with the Indian Air Force, Ram is a Major with the Indian Army. Rajan is in love with a doctor named Usha Choudhury, and both plan to get married. Then Usha meets with Ram, who unknowingly falls head over heels in love with her. Before anything can be finalized, Rajan is asked to bomb a secret Japanese airport located in a mountainous valley. While carrying out his duties, he finds out that his mission has been compromised, unable to return, his plane is shot down and he is believed to be dead. The Indian Army wants to destroy this secret airport and sends a crack Commando unit under Major Ram, who sets out to carry out this task. What Ram does not know is that this mission has also been compromised and he and his men are all set to walk into a carefully planned trap by the Japanese - who will ensure that no one survives to tell this story.

India is worried about its north eastern residents who are cut off from the mainland and are generally backward, illiterate and under developed. The government appoints special officer cum civil engineer Vijay (Dev Anand)to construct a bridge over a river next to the tribal village of Ding in the north eastern part of India. Ding is ruled by the cruel and autocratic Deng Do Rani (Pran) and his henchmen Haku (Jankidas), Teju (Sujit Kumar) and trusted fighter Soo Reni (Sharmila Tagore), a beautiful girl. Deng Do Rani wants to sabotage the construction and sends Soo Reni and other warriors to demolish the bridge. They are captured by Vijay's officers and treated with respect and equality. Deng Do Rani sends others to kill the band captured, and the Indian Officers under the leadership of Vijay fight bravely to protect them. Soo Reni and her companions have a change of heart and pledge to support Vijay in his mission. Vijay and Soo Reni also fall in love with each other.
