Summer 2006, Kinshasa. Martini, Jeannette, Hélène and Rosette spend everyday sparring with Coach Judex in the old Tata Rafael stadium; the same one where Muhammad Ali knocked out George Foreman in 1974 during one of the most legendary matches in boxing. At dawn, thousands of people from the ghetto come to train and political parties rally. While others fight for the Presidency of Congo, Judex struggles to organise a woman’s boxing tournament with very little money... Kinshasa sings, Kinshasa starves and Judex's girls try to survive, they’re realistic but still full of hope. A film about women in a country where men have gone crazy.

In 2006, he meets with a friend from his army service period, who tells him of the nightmares connected to his experiences from the Lebanon War. Folman is surprised to find that he remembers nothing from that period. Later that night he has a vision from the night of the Sabra and Shatila massacre, the reality of which he is unable to clearly recall. In his memory, he and his soldier comrades are bathing at night by the seaside in Beirut under the light of flares descending over the city.

After the ikiza (the Burundi killings of Hutu intellectuals in 1972), the Burundi refugees exiled in Tanzania founded the Party for the Liberation of the Hutu People. Its armed representative is the NLF, the National Liberation Front. In 2006, after prolonged negotiations with the opposition and the Army, the president of Burundi made a public call, over the radio, to all NLF soldiers asking them to step away from the armed front and voluntarily join the peace process. Within this context, Tune in to Peace enters the lives of three young people: Désiré, Jean Claude and Jérémie, all ex members of the NLF.

Alongside the southernmost urban centre in Africa, separating city from ocean, lays a very special strip of land. Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean on one side and Signal Hill on the other, the Sea Point Promenade – and the public swimming pools in its centre – forms a space unlike any in Cape Town. Once a bastion of Apartheid exclusivity, it is nowadays unique in its apparently easy mix of age, race, gender, religion, wealth status and sexual orientation. Somehow this space has become one where all South Africans feel they have a right to exist, and where the possibility of happiness in a divided world doesn't seem unfeasible. But what is the reality of those coming here? How do people see their past, their present in this space and their future in this country?

For three years, the film follows four families in their search for the truth: Activist, young rebel soldier or simple citizen, either they or their relations were imprisoned in different parts of Morocco. Each person tries to "find out", discover a "reason", to be able to mourn. But forty years later, the state secret finally unveils the existence of another, more intimate secret, the family secret.
