Made under the Basant Pictures banner, it had story, scenario and additional dialogue by JBH Wadia. The dialogues were written by Teznath Zar. The music of the film was composed by S. N. Tripathi and Chitragupta. The film starred Meena Kumari, Mahipal, S. N. Tripathi, B. M. Vyas, Pandit Amarnath and Raja Sandow.
This fantasy film from the Arabian Nights followed the adventures of Aladdin and his finding of the magic lamp in the cave, and his love for the princess Badar.
Synopsis
The film starts in a magician’s den in a cave where the magician, Hikmat (S. N. Tripathi) tells a genie-like figure that he wants to rule the world. He is asked to get the magic lamp from a cave where he will need to send someone who is honest and has twenty-one moles in the shape of a lamp on his hand. The magician finds Aladdin (Mahipal) who is in love with Princess Badar (Meena Kumari). Badar's father has been imprisoned and a look-alike substituted in his place by the evil minister Masood Beg. Masood Beg's son, Nazim has Aladdin whipped for a minor fracas and the magician tends to him. He takes Aladdin to the cave and sends him down to get the lamp. When Aladin refuses to hand over the lamp before coming out, Hikmat slams the entrance shut leaving Aladdin trapped. Aladdin manages to rub the lamp and a genie appears. The genie helps Aladdin get out of the cave, marry the princess, free Badar’s father, have him reinstated as the Sultan and build a palace for him. The story follows the magician getting hold of the lamp and Aladdin’s adventures from then on till he gets the lamp back and manages to vanquish evil.Actors

The story is about Hanuman and his confrontations with The King of Patal, Ahiravan and his brother Mahiravan who have been asked by Ravan to kill Ram and Lakshman. The film follows Hanuman’s encounter with Makari the daughter of the sea who wants to marry him, but instead through the swallowing of a bead of his sweat she gives birth to Makardhwaj who guards the gates of Patal (Hell) where Ram and Lakshman are taken when kidnapped. Hanuman gets the better of Makardhwaj and rescues Ram and Lakshman. A major battle ensues and Ahiravan and Mahiravan are killed, but somehow they keep regenerating. Hanuman manages to find out the secret of their regeneration and puts a stop to it with the help of Ahiravan’s wife Chandrasena.

Alibaba and his brother are out with their donkeys when one donkey runs away and Alibaba follows looking for him. Hiding behind a stone he sees forty thieves ride up to a hillside and the chief saying "Khul Ja Sim Sim" (Open Sesame) and a cave door opening. He later goes back there and returns a rich man. The jealousy of Alibaba's brother’s wife lands her husband in trouble with his head being cut off. Marjina, Alibaba’s beloved finds a tailor who sews him back. The thieves find out about Alibaba and meet him under false pretenses. He invites them home where Marjina finds out the chief’s strategy of pretending to be a merchant. She gets the 40 vats he’s brought to hide the thieves in thrown down the hill. Finally Alibaba is free of the thieves and lives amicably with his brother and family.

This movie is about the tawaif Sahibjaan (Meena Kumari), who is born to a courtesan, Nargis (also Meena Kumari). After being spurned by her lover Shahabuddin's (Ashok Kumar) family, Nargis is driven to a graveyard where she gives birth to Sahibjaan secretly. Nargis dies during childbirth and her sister Nawabjaan (Veena)- a brothel madam - brings her up as her own. Unable to break away from the vicious circle, Sahibjaan grows up to be a beautiful and popular dancer/singer. Forest ranger Salim Ahmed Khan (Raaj Kumar), enthralled by her beauty and innocence, eventually convinces her to elope with him, which she does. But trials and tribulations await Sahibjaan as she is recognized by men wherever she goes in the company of Salim. When Salim renames her Pakeezah (pure of heart) and takes her to a cleric to be legally married, she refuses and returns to the brothel. Salim eventually decides to marry someone else and invites Sahibjaan to dance at his wedding; she agrees. During this event, Nawabjaan recognises Shahabuddin and calls him to witness the irony of the situation: It is his own daughter dancing and entertaining his family.
