The film focuses on the moral dilemmas one faces in life. It won numerous awards including the NETPAC Award for Best Malayalam Film at the 18th International Film Festival of Kerala and the Kerala State Film Award for Best Film. Sudevan won the G. Aravindan Award for Best Debut Director. Actor Ashok Kumar won the Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actor. The film was produced by Pace Trust and was funded mainly through contributions from various friends and admirers of Sudevan's earlier films from around the world.
The film is scheduled to release in theatres on June 5, 2015.

Balwant Roy (Pradeep Kumar) is a big industrialist. His daughter Uma (Neena Gupta) is married to Sunderlal's (Prem Chopra's) elder son Raghuveer (Shakti Kapoor). Sunderlal is the managing director of Roy Group of Industries. Balwant Roy's only son, Amar—nickname Munna (Prosenjit) loves his sister very much. Sunderlal is a greedy character whose intends to hush up the property of Balwant Roy and kill Munna. He plots a conspiracy to finish off Munna. But a village boy, Mangal (Sunny Deol) saves Munna's life. Now both are living together and Mangal's mother (Seema Deo) feels happy because they love her very much. The film is set in Lucknow, where widower, Nawab Mirza Sultan lives with daughter Zeenat Jahan in an old mansion. The film mainly captures the events of Vivekananda's life from his birth to 1897, when he returned to India from the West. The film begins with the birth of Narendranath Datta (pre-monastic name of Swami Vivekananda) and shows the neighbors and relatives of Datta family celebrating the event. It immediately moves to the scene where Narendranath sees his father Vishwanath Datta is donating money, clothes, food to poor and distressed people. Seeing this, young Narendranath asks his father to give him something too, and his father tells him to go and look at mirror and find what he had already given him. Following his father's suggestion, Narndranath goes to the room, sees his image in the mirror.
