The Lucky Lady (1926) is a silent film romance produced by Famous Players-Lasky, distributed by Paramount Pictures, directed by Raoul Walsh, and starring Greta Nissen, Lionel Barrymore, William Collier, Jr., and Marc McDermott.

Walsh and Barrymore and their families knew each other going back to their adolescence in the Victorian era of the 1880s and 90s

Contrary to some sources, this film is not a lost film. A print survives in the Library of Congress.

Synopsis

Juste après le décès du prince de San Guido, le premier Ministre Franz Garletz veut faire se marier la Princesse Antoinette avec le Comte Ferranzo. Antoinette étudie dans un couvent, mais sort secrètement le soir pour aller voir les spectacles à l'auberge locale. Elle y commence un flirt avec Clarke, un jeune touriste américain. Lorsqu'elle apprend le projet de mariage, elle se déguise en coquette pour séduire Ferranzo. Finalement, Garletz, pour mettre un terme à ces histoires, envoie cette coquette et Clarke à l'étranger. Là-bas, Antoinette dévoile son identité et se marie avec Clarke.

La province de Khorassan ploie sous les taxes imposées par son tyrannique sultan. Hassan, un pâtissier au grand cœur, aide Rafi, qui arrive dans la cité, à retrouver sa bien-aimée Pervaneh, enlevée par le sultan. Au marché aux esclaves, Rafi a assez d'argent pour racheter sa liberté, mais elle est enlevée par un des sbires du sultan pour être emmenée au palais. La croyant morte, Rafi jure de la venger et crée une bande qui terrorise les officiels du régime. Un jour, le sultan, déguisé, assiste à une réunion des hommes de Rafi et lui transmet un message lui faisant croire que Pervaneh l'attend au palais. Hassan conduit les hommes de Rafi lors d'une attaque surprise du palais, au cours de laquelle le sultan est tué et ses soldats mis en déroute. Les amoureux sont réunis et Hassan devient le sultan.
