The film is set in the Buddhist town of Sariput in the deserts of Central Asia, around 200 B.C., when the town is struck by a devastating sandstorm that leaves behind only four survivors: two monks, and two children taking refuge in the monastery. Twenty years later, the monks have aged, while the boy (Nitish Bhardwaj) and the girl (Pallavi Joshi) have grown and fall in love. The jealous monk deceitfully persuades the boy to become a monk, but the girl wins him back. As a result both are expelled from the monastery, and that is when the sandstorm strikes once again.., 2h25

Despite its epic scale, the Moses story only takes up about the first third of the film. After that, the story changes to a modern setting involving living by the lessons of the commandments. Two brothers make opposite decisions, one, John, to follow his mother's teaching of the Ten Commandments and become a poor carpenter, and the other, Danny, to break every one of them and rise to the top. The film shows his unchecked immorality to be momentarily gainful, but ultimately disastrous., 1h26

After years of living in the U.S. with her mother, 13-year-old Libby (Elya Inbar) is sent to Israel to live with her estranged father, Shaul (Gur Bentwich), a hapless inventor who is currently “in-between apartments” (i.e. homeless). Libby’s arrival coincides with the outbreak of the 2006 Lebanon War and, in order to provide a home for her, Shaul pretends that they are refugees from Northern Israel so that a wealthy Jerusalem family, who want to extend a helping hand to their fellow citizens, can take them in. Finally in a “normal” household, Shaul and Libby begin to build their father-daughter relationship, but their false identities can’t last forever, especially as Libby unleashes teenage fury at the lies permeating her life, those she must tell now, and those she’s been fed since childhood., 1h47
