San Francisco ex-cop Vic Barron's (Stevens) family died and he himself was disfigured, framed and imprisoned when he crossed the wrong mobsters. After his release, Vic has but one desire, revenge on gangster Tino Morelli (Douglas Kennedy), whom he considers responsible.
James Nevill, a nearly bankrupt businessman, hires his best friend to kill him so his wife can collect on his life insurance. After his business takes a sudden upswing he changes his mind, but he must get to the killer and tell him so before the killer gets to him first. Nevill suffers several near misses before learning that it is partner and another who really want to kill him, not his friend whom they have kidnapped and framed. In the end, the villains shoot each other.
Middle-aged Marko (Haas) is searching for a lost gold mine for nearly 20 years. To share expenses for a prospecting expedition he teams up with bright young Ray Brighton (Agar). When they find the mine Marko decides he doesn't want to share with his partner and plans to murder him. He figures that after the two of them spend the winter together with Marko's trashy young wife (Moore) in a shack far from civilization, he will sooner or later catch them in adultery, and he can use the "unwritten law" to kill Brighton and thus escape punishment from the law. But the plot backfires.
Peu de temps après 1933: L'espion polonais Igor Wronski doit quitter le service après un duel et des traites non tenues. Grâce aux relations de sa sœur Jadwiga, Wronski entre en contact avec le colonel Maty à Varsovie. Il postule auprès de Berlin et est engagé. À Berlin, Wronski, par son charme avec les femmes, parvient aux plus hautes sphères du ministère de la Défense. La jeune Liane est secrétaire au ministère de la Guerre et la maîtresse de Wronski. Elle lui donne de nombreux courriers internes. Cependant la personne la plus importante est Leonore von Cronberg, nièce du colonel Ranke et secrétaire du chef du département de la planification des chars. Elle se rend vite compte que Wronski est un espion, mais se tourne vers son côté. Elle lui procure des documents secrets qu'il donne à Jadwiga. Les Polonais qui négocient un pacte de non-agression ont une image précise des plans de défense des Allemands. Ils se croient en sécurité et signent le pacte. Maty est informé que les Polonais connaissaient bien sûr les plans des Allemands, parce qu'ils ont reçu des informations d'un certain nombre de femmes au sein du ministère. Maty avait récemment annoncé à Wronski que tout dénonciateur serait liquidé.
O’Keefe (Steve Catlett) stars as an American G.I. who remained in Italy after the war to manage a car dealership. He falls in love with a secretary (Mara Lane), and after only one date with her, she asks him to dispose of her boss’ body, who has died of a heart attack in her apartment. O'Keefe places the body in the trunk of the wrong car and watches helplessly as Lane drives away with it. O’Keefe then goes about trying to fix the situation, but a police inspector (Arnoldo Foà) and Lane’s sadistic husband (Rossano Brazzi) have ulterior motives in store for him.
