Dwain Murphy is a Caribbean-born Canadian actor. He is best known for playing Eric in Degrassi: The Next Generation, Giles in The Line, and Bishop in How She Move. Murphy recently has made an appearance in Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist doing the voice and physical performance of Isaac Briggs.

Biography

Murphy was born on the small Caribbean island of Dominica. After coming to Canada with his parents at the age of four, Murphy was persuaded to start acting and graduated from the Humber College Acting for Film and Television program. He is known for playing the character Bishop in How She Move, and a supporting role as Flipper in Poor Boy's Game. He also works in television and is known for his recurring role as Eric, Marco Del Rossi's boyfriend, in Degrassi: The Next Generation, and for playing Giles, Carlos's brother in The Line. He also had a starring role in the move Saving God as Norris.

Murphy currently resides in Toronto, Ontario. He also has a love for basketball. He is a Catholic.

Unable to afford the tuition needed to fund her private school education, Rayanna or Raya (Rutina Wesley) returns to her family home in the city while reluctantly re-evaluating her future. Upon learning that the top prize for an upcoming step-dancing competition is $50,000, Raya uses her impressive moves to earn a coveted slot in her good friend Bishop's (Dwain Murphy) predominantly male JSJ crew. Isolated from the local females due to jealousy and separated from her fellow dancers by her sex, the ambitious dancer is subsequently kicked off the team for showing off during a preliminary competition. Now, if Raya has any hope of realizing her medical school dreams, she will have to either earn back Bishop's trust or organize her own dance crew and start over from scratch. In the end, she eventually learns "how she move".
