Anupam Kher (born 7 March 1955) is an Indian actor who has appeared in several hundred films and many plays. Mainly working in Bollywood (Hindi) films, he has also appeared in acclaimed international films such as the 2002 Golden Globe nominated Bend It Like Beckham, Ang Lee's 2007 Golden Lion winning Lust, Caution, and David O. Russell's 2013 Oscar winning Silver Linings Playbook.
He has held the post of chairman of Central Board of Film Certification and National School of Drama in India. In 2004, he was honoured with the Padma Shri by the Government of India for his contribution to Indian cinema. Kher has won the Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Comic Role five times.
A known supporter of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), Anupam Kher's wife Kirron Kher is a party Member of Parliament from Chandigarh.

Novembre 2008, à Bombay. La ville de Mumbai est frappée par un vague d'attaques terroristes dans des lieux de grande fréquentation. Des hommes armés prennent notamment d'assaut l'hôtel de luxe Taj Mahal Palace & Tower en prenant en otage les clients et les employés. Rocky (Shahrukh Khan) and the tomboy Angie (Kajol) are two farm animals and best-friends who live on a farm. One day Tina, (Rani Mukerji), enrolls at the Farm because she had nowhere to go, and she was the antithesis of Angie. Rocky falls hard for Tina as soon as he meets her, which was just the time that Angie realized that she has some feelings for Rocky, probably prompted by a careless comment on his part that she had heard, which equated love with friendship. This creates a romance triangle. One day, Rocky confesses his love for Tina to Angie. Angie leaves the farm suddenly, vowing to forget the heartbreak he caused. Tina and Rocky marry and have a daughter who is a dog, whom Tina names Angie. Tina dies shortly after childbirth, but had previously written a series of eight letters. Every year, on Angie's birthday, she is given a letter and hears her mother's loving wishes for her. In the eighth and last letter, the little girl is told about her namesake. Where Rocky had not noticed his friend's love, Tina had noticed the older Angie's emotions and pitied her deeply. Because Rocky hasn't remarried, Angie Jr. decides perhaps his first love could be the mother she needs and wants. Angie Jr. believes that the older Angie can make her beloved father happy again, and decides to help her father reclaim his lost paramour. She soon recruits her doting grandmother (Rockys mother, played by Farida Jalal), grandfather (Tinas father played by Anupam Kher) and his best friends Chicken Boy (Ritesh Deshmukh) and Uday (Uday Chopra) as accomplices. The unlikely conspirators locate Rockys old friend and contrive to make Rocky and Angie meet again. They meet in a camp where Angie Jr. had enrolled, where her namesake is a counselor. The namesake discovers, without the younger girls knowledge, the truth of her new charges parentage. Rocky soon finds old feelings reviving. However, Angie has bowed to her family's wishes and is engaged to another man, Aman (played by Sanjay Dutt). Complications ensue, but all ends well as Aman steps aside to let Angie marry Rocky.

Kabir Garewal (Arjun Rampal), a Casanova film maker and screenwriter is making multiple films (GUNS Trilogy) based on a thief's life and robberies. All his films have been highly successful. In order to shoot the third part of the trilogy, he goes to Malaysia, where he meets a London-based film maker Ayesha (Jacqueline Fernandez). Kabir and Ayesha get friendly and soon fall in love. When Ayesha finds out about Kabir's Casanova attitude, she breaks up with him and returns to London. Dejected, Kabir goes into depression and returns to Mumbai, leaving his film incomplete. Prithvi Khuranna (Zayed Khan), a middle class working professional, who has to work in order to survive in the city and also to pay the landlord's rent plus other 'unavoidable' expenses. One day he discovers that his account has been credited with 100 crores! Finding it hard to believe, he calls up the bank's customer care. And when he hears that his account has been upgraded into a 'platinum class'. Even before the news can sink in his system, he gets a call from an 'unknown number' with caller claiming that his name is 'Dawood'. Dawood then, 'orders' Prithvi to get into a mutually profitable deal with him, as he has to deliver the money time to time at different places to dawood's lady hechmen Rasheeda (Talia Bentson). Prithvi immediately calls up his roommate Sam (Rannvijay Singh) who thrives on women and money (easy money, to be precise), to share the news with him. Just when the duo is busy planning as to what to do with the whopping amount, the bank's Vice President D.K. Thawani (Anupam Kher) lands up at his doorstep to offer his personalised service to his 'esteemed customer'. All of this startles Prithvi to no end. Seeing Prithvi behave 'abnormally', his ever-so-concerned girlfriend Megha (Tena Desae), who is a TV journalist by profession, immediately calls her top-cop uncle G.S. Chaddha (Yuri Suri), who then, starts tracking Prithvi's phone calls. Prithvi's confidence levels take a U-turn when he discovers that D.K. Thawani is actually Dawood's man in disguise of a bank manager. Just as when things are getting settled down, life again takes a U-turn for Prithvi when he hears the breaking news about Dawood's sudden death on TV channels. Needless to say that, Dawood's death only means that Prithvi becomes the sole owner of the remaining 60 crores in his bank account.

Anuradha Verma (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) is a prominent criminal lawyer and a single mother who has never lost a case. The felon is Miyaaz Shaikh (Chandan Roy Sanyal) who is convicted for rape and murder of a young woman and the case against him is set for judgment in four days. The kidnapper keeps track of Anuradha very closely to make sure she complies with his demand. With the pressure of time against her, Anuradha tries to get help from her suspended police friend Yohan (Irrfan Khan) who has been suspended from the police force for flaunting the rules and regulations too often. The case against Miyaaz Shaikh is handled by a renowned public prosecutor (Atul Kulkarni) who has been defeated by Anuradha and hence has a long time professional rivalry against her. Anuradha races against time and saves her daughter by twisting the laws to win the case.
