Juliette Mayniel (born 22 January 1936) is a French actress. She appeared in 35 films and television shows between 1958 and 1978.

At the 10th Berlin International Film Festival, she won the Silver Bear for Best Actress for her role in the film The Fair. From 1964-68 she was the partner of actor Vittorio Gassman with whom she had a son, Alessandro, an actor.

Biography

Juliette Mayniel est la fille d'un cafetier. Révélée en 1959 par Les Cousins de Claude Chabrol, elle remporte l'Ours d'argent de la meilleure actrice à la Berlinale 1960 pour son rôle dans le film Je ne voulais pas être un nazi (Kirmes) de Wolfgang Staudte.

Elle a eu une relation sentimentale avec l'acteur italien Vittorio Gassman, à qui elle a donné en 1965 un fils, Alessandro Gassman.
