Leanne Best is an English actress, born in Liverpool. She trained at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and presently lives in South-West London.

She is best known for her roles as Jane Cobden in the BBC series Ripper Street, Celia Donnelly in Fortitude, and the titular role in the 2014 film The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death. Between 2004 and 2014 she had numerous roles in episodes of UK television series such as Casualty, Doctors, Shetland, New Tricks, and as Teresa Fenchurch in Home Fires.

In January 2015 it was leaked that she had joined the cast of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

40 years after the events of the first film, bombs drop down on London during the Blitz of World War II, Eve Parkins joins her schoolchildren and the school's headmistress, Jean Hogg, to evacuate them to the countryside town of Crythin Gifford.
