Mark Joffe (born 1956) is an Australian film and television director. He has directed feature films, telemovies, and drama series.

Joffe "learned his trade at Crawford Productions", working on Carson's Law, Special Squad and Neighbours. His first major directing job was the first episode of The Great Bookie Robbery (1986).

He agreed to direct the Irish-American film The MatchMaker after gaining approval to have the script rewritten by Irish writer Graham Linehan, one of the writers of Father Ted

Biography

Il a appris son métier de réalisateur dans la société de production australienne Crawford Productions , en travaillant sur différentes séries télévisées. Sa première réalisation majeure a été le premier épisode de The Great Bookie Robbery en 1986, pour lequel il reçoit un prix de l'Australian Film Institute.

Il accepte de réaliser le film américain-irlandais L'Entremetteur (The MatchMaker) après avoir obtenu la réécriture du scénario par le scénariste irlandais Graham Linehan.

Advocate Steve Myers (Billy Connolly) is a disillusioned lawyer who becomes fed-up with the perceived corruption within the judicial system. He quits the law business and buys a small fishing boat and takes up fishing for a living. His fishing boat is struck by lightning and explodes into pieces, burns and sinks. A tight-knit group of high school students studies karate with Steve Beck (Vince Martin), a former soldier in an unnamed war.
