Rajan P Dev (29 May 1951 – 29 July 2009) was an Indian film and stage actor. He was born in Cherthala in the Alappuzha district of the former state Thiru-Kochi (present day Kerala). He had acted in over 200 films in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada language films. He was noted for his villain roles laced with a touch of humour. He came into limelight for his characterisation of Kochuvava in the play Kattukuthira. Rajan P. Dev died in Kochi Wednesday 29 July 2009 due to a liver disease.

Black Stallion film starts with Irumba John (Ashish Vidyarthi), a dreaded goon who terrorizes the town of Tirupur. His partner in crimes is the local cop Doraiswamy (Pitamagan Mahadevan) who kills him in a market fight. Sollai's son witnesses the killing and he grows up and as per his father’s wishes to be another “Criminal police” called Black (Kalabhavan Mani). Later, he takes revenge by killing Doraiswamy and soon becomes a notorious “thug in uniform”.

Kalidasu (Sushanth) is the son of a sincere police officer (Nagababu), who is killed in the hands of a factionist (GV). However, Kalidasu kills that factionist and escapes from Rayalaseema and reaches Guntur. Kanakadurga (Jayasudha) brings him up along with her son Jai Dev (Vamsikrishna). The film is about Krishna (Ravi Teja) who was once a software engineer but quits his job to give it to his friend and is unemployed in the city of Vijayawada. Krishna follows Sandhya to Hyderabad and works his way into their house with the help of Bobby and finally both of them confess their love. There, Krishna knows the flashback of Sandhya and how she is being chased by the notorious and cruel Jagga (Mukul Dev) assisted by his uncle (Jaya Prakash Reddy) for marriage. Krishna fights Jagga, Sandhya's older brother kills Jagga, and Krishna marries Sandhya.
